"Great authentic Kyoto home! We truly enjoyed our stay; location next to many restaurants was super convenient, sleeping at futons, taking a wooden hinoki bath and enjoying Japanese breakfast was a great experience. "

"I was in Japan for 2 weeks, stayed in 5 locations. This was my absolute favorite hotel and location. Walkable to and from train and bus locations, shopping and fabulous restaurants all super close. Beautiful property! Very comfortable room. Soaking tub was perfect (on average we walked 20k steps a day) absolutely recommend this hotel. "

"Fantastic property so close to the train station. Thoroughly enjoyed the spa. The glass between the spa and the bedroom was cracked, some swimwear missing and limited kitchen items (1 sharp knife). Regardless, the property was very clean, well laid out for our family, and walking distance to groceries and shopping. Would stay again. "

"Quiet clean property that gives you some traditional Japanese experience. The bed mats though authentic, were a bit uncomfortable but overall excellent spot. "

"THE BEST EXPERIENCE AND VALUE FOR YOUR MONEY in Kyoto!!! It was a beautifully renovated traditional style Kyoto lodging so accessible to everything near Gion and all the famous landmarks of Kyoto.
You get to experience staying in the Kyoto style house - every detail was well thought out with modern convenience even in the toilet room outside on the veranda. Lighting was beautifully used everywhere even in a tiny garden.
Everything was new and clean, modern in the inside and traditional...

"The hotel and staff are impeccable from start to finish. They helped us with all of our cab and restaurant reservations. If we come back to Kyoto we will stay here again"

"This is our second time staying at this place and we just love how it’s in the center of Gion district surrounded with the best food spots. We also love how close it is to shopping, nishiki market, karaoke, all the fun stuff!! The space itself is huge and the onsen is just the cherry on top after a LOOONG day of walking/exploring. It’s < 20 mins away from Kyoto station as well."

"Beautiful and spacious room. Very nice automatic bathroom and although I am not a Hello Kitty fan, the decor was very tasteful and well designed.
Downsides:
A very steep staircase to the room, which is difficult with large or heavy bags.
No staff onsite, so you had to rely on the informational booklets provided in the room and the check-in was a bit awkward; at an office near Kyoto station."

"Wonderful Stay – Highly Recommend
Recently stayed here and had an excellent experience. I must say the hotel and staff were amazing. We arrived around 11pm due to a delayed flight and lengthy train ride. The hotel was extremely clean. The front desk lady was able to help me figure out how to get to Sumoto on Awaji Island, which made the day trip much easier. The view from the hotel room was very nice as well. Hotel is well situated with the subway below the hotel as well as having a grocery store in the basement which was extremely convenient. We were also about a 10-15 minute walk from where most of the tour buses meet up as well, an added bonus. Room was on the small side but it wasn’t a big issue as we were out and about most of the time. I have friends going to Japan in February and I’ll be highly recommending this hotel to them. When I return to Japan I will definitely be staying at this hotel.

"The hotel was outstanding with the train station within a 5 minute walk. Family Mart/7 Eleven just across the street. So many dining options in the area."
"The breakfast area messed up on our count, we went back to the front desk to explained the situation, the manager who passed by overheard the conversation and walked us down to the breakfast area to walk us in. Love the location, staff, breakfast variety. We stayed for 4 nights and missed breakfast 2 days. If we knew from the start how great their breakfast was, we would have not missed it. I got to make my own ramen, iced matcha latte, and they even have a Takoyaki station. "
