Dear Elena,Guest feedback is extremely important to us, and we are shocked to receive such a poor review from you without being provided with any detail about what caused you to feel so negatively about your stay with us. From the moment you arrived at the property yesterday, you stayed in your room, and did not reappear until the transfer vehicle we had arranged arrived to take you to Livingstone. You did not participate in our property briefing, you did not complete our guest registration form, nor did you even come out of your room for breakfast this morning. With such little use of our property facilities and such little interaction with our team, it is impossible for us to understand how you could have such a negative impression of your stay with us.If you have any genuine complaints about your stay we ask you to please contact us directly with the details at info@riverviewlodgechobe.com, to give us the chance to remedy any failings from our side.Many thanks.

We stayed 4 nights in the deluxe chalet. From here, we covered both Chobe and Victoria Falls easily. The activities and excursions put on by the lodge were excellent. Food was great, as was the service. Reasonably priced for the area. We would definitely stay again.

Great place to stay in Kasane

Great spot. Beautiful view. New rooms will be great when complete. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Enjoyed that it was a smaller place, set in a beautiful location on the river and away from the big “mass market lodges.” Everyone gets a “cabin.” Staff is very friendly and helpful. Game drives and river cruises were delightful, informative and packed with animals. Downside: breakfast usually the same, Internet very poor, and the power frequently goes out for 1-3 hours.

We strive to provide personalised service to each of our guests and are really pleased you felt well looked after by our team and had such good experiences on your activities with us. We appreciate your feedback about breakfast and the internet at the lodge; regrettably internet in this part of the world is slower than one would find in larger cities, however we purposely work with the leading internet service provider in the region and make every effort to improve the internet service whenever new capability/technology becomes available. As a small, private lodge, it is regrettably not feasible for us to offer a very extensive food menu, however we do endeavour to offer a good variety for breakfast by providing 3 à la carte hot food options in addition to a continental breakfast. Whilst it is regrettable that you found our breakfast to be limited in choice, we do hope you enjoyed the quality of the food that was served. Many thanks for your patience during the scheduled power cut which took place during your stay with us. The electrical infrastructure in the area is in the process of undergoing an upgrade and as such power cuts do occur on occasion whilst essential work is being undertaken, however these works are expected to be completed very soon. Thank you once again for your review and valuable feedback, and it would be our pleasure to welcome you back again one day.

Over Priced

We appreciate you taking the time to write us a review, and are very sorry that your stay with us didn’t fully meet your expectations. The price of accommodation in Kasane is significantly higher than in other parts of the country due to its close proximity to Chobe National Park, and we make a concerted effort to keep our rates very competitive in comparison to similar properties in the area, and in consideration of the quality of facilities and services we offer at River View Lodge. We also endeavour to offer additional value for money by including complimentary breakfast and early ‘Safari tea’ in our room rates. It is regrettable therefore that you felt us to be overpriced. We have been making improvements throughout the property over the past few months, and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future, including a full renovation of our chalets during our next low season so that they remain fully on par with the facilities and services we provide. Thank you once again for your feedback and we wish you safe onward travels.

Wonderful family Safari - would stay again

We stayed at the Lodge for 3 nights in a family room for 3 adults. We struggled to find the location, however once we arrived the hospitality was wonderful. We were shown around the complex, which consists of a restaurant, bar, open lounge area and swimming pool. The room itself was a good size with ample space. The cleanliness was good and the decor good for the location. The bathroom could do with some modernisation, especially the shower tap. The breakfast was always a great start to the day with plenty of Continental and hot food options. The evenings meals were from set menus that changed every night, these were a good portion and always great quality. The pool area had lots of space to lounge around, even when the hotel was full. Again, there was always staff nearby to assist with any needs. We also appreciated the free ironing service. The morning game safari organised by the hotel was lovely (although cold/windy in the vehicle due to the nature of the very large safari vehicle) and we saw some amazing animals, including lots of Elephant, Zebra, Giraffe, Lion. However, this is dependent on the day you visit the Chobe Park, I guess we were lucky to see Lions (as it was off/wet season). The transfers to Livingstone airport were organised by the hotel for $60 pp (prices can vary - check with hotel), again a good journey and ample of space in the vehicle. The only issue was on checkout when different $ conversion rates were applied but rectified after I identified.

Thank you for your valuable feedback with regard to the bathroom in your chalet, and we are sorry you found the shower tap in your bathroom not to be in perfect condition. We are planning a full refurbishment of our rooms during our next quiet season to ensure they are on par with the service and hospitality we provide, but in the meantime will be replacing the tap in your bathroom to ensure it works perfectly going forward. Our apologies also for the discrepancy with regard to the USD conversion rate applied on your final bill, and we appreciate your support in assisting us to rectify this. Beautiful location, so peaceful, with helpful staff and delicious meals. Will absolutely plan to stay here again the next time I'm in Kasane!
