No people on duty. Virtual checki-in No housekeeping for a two night stay. No access to main building as it was rented out to another guest.
No welcoming feel. Great location. No soap other than liquids in shower dispenser. “Urban inn”notion not fulfilled. Just a room without any services you might expect of an Inn.

Thank you for staying with us, and leaving your review Paul! We are a small staff, typically onsite from 8:30am-4:30pm, so I'm sorry if we missed you! We stock shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the showers, as well as hand soap by the batrhoom sink. Many of our guests have appreciate the ease and privacy of our contactless check-in and check out with the keyless access codes, and also with housekeepers not touching up the rooms daily. Our guests in the Carriage House typically have access to the main house (which you did have the first night of your stay), unless there is a group with all of the rooms in the main house rented. We are upfront with this information upon confirmation, but I do sincerely apologize if you felt your stay was not up to standard! We appreciate your feedback as we greatly value our guests input, and we're always looking for room for improvement.

I felt the property was rather gloomy. Clean enough, but looked very worn.

There no interaction with any staff at all, no one to greet as arrived. No one to answer any questions we had.

With our contactless check in and check out with keyless access codes, we do notify our guests that there may not be staff onsite at the time of check in, as we're a small staff typically working from 8:30-4:30pm. We are available by phone after hours if guests need assitance, as our answering service will pass along any messages to us directly. We hope you still enjoyed your stay at the property!

It was cozier than the average hotel room. My opinion...mattress was too firm for me.

PRO: convenient walking distance to restaurants on The Plaza and Nelson-Atkins Art Museum

We stayed in the Clara and Russell Stover room on the third floor. A bit of a hike up the stairs. Nice room. Squeaky floors, but that’s part of the charm. VERY comfortable bedding.

You see these types of places from the road and think- I'd like to go in there! These owners have kindly turned this beautiful property into a business for which you can. It is an old building with some slightly rough features, but I really enjoyed that too.

The outdoor areas were very peaceful. The room beautiful and clean. Contactless check in was something I didn’t know I would like but I did. Staff was still available through email or phone for any questions.
