Hitty-San has lovingly restored an old samurai house and it shows. The property is unique with all kinds of decorative touches. It’s conveniently located near the train station and local sightseeing. Most of all, Hitty-san’s gracious hospitality made for a memorable trip. Thank you Hitty!

This place was super unique in its look, culture, and history. It was clean and updated with modern amenities while keeping its Japanese aesthetic. The host was the one of the nicest people we have come across and you can tell that he is passionate about Japanese history. There are a good amount of places to eat, along with Omicho market being a close walk. Definitely recommend this place for a stay in Kanazawa.

Thank you for writing a nice review. I was very happy to hear that one of you wanted to eat katsudon. You are deeply enjoying Japanese culture. Enjoying different cultures while traveling makes life richer. I felt hope from you young people. Come again.

Hitty was an extremely great host! He met us directly at the house and walked us through the place. He gifted us with sweets upon arrival (which were very yummy!) and even offered to fetch us to our destination on our first day. He is quick to respond to messages and provided help promptly when needed. He even helped us reserve seats at a local restaurant since we did not have a local number and didn't speak Japanese. The place looks better in real life than in photos. Although the place is old, it is extremely clean and has everything you need. Kitchen was small but modern and all you need. The house is split into 2 levels, with the sleeping area being on the 2nd floor. The stairs are steep and might be hard to climb for elderly and kids. It is also hard to carry heavy suitcases up the stairs. Regardless, the futons were super comfortable and warm for winter! Hitty even prepared Yukata sets for each of us, along with towels for each day and toothbrush sets. There was also complimentary tea and coffee for us to enjoy throughout our stay. Super convenient location close to the train station, the bus stops and convenience stores, all of which take only about 5 mins on foot. There are also many restaurants nearby of the Izakaya style where Japanese office workers gather for drinks after work. But the food and drinks were delicious and we enjoyed our visits to the eateries. Overall, a great stay and I would definitely recommend for everyone to book this!

Thank you for staying at our hotel. Thank you for your wonderful feedback. Our hotel has steep stairs and low ceilings. However, this house was once home to a samurai, and you can enjoy the atmosphere of that time. Please come to see us again with your family. I wish you and your family a happy new year.

This property was lovely. Only a few minutes away from the train station where you can get a bus to the main attractions and the property is a 15 minute walk away from the fish market. It is also close to many izakayas so you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to food. There is a small kitchenette and groceries can be bought from the supermarket at the train station. Hitty San was a generous host and truly demonstrated the Japanese spirit of omotenashi. Although the property is not a conventional hotel, it was very clean and well set up. The tatami floors were heated which made spending time downstairs a delight during our visit in winter. Air conditioners were placed everywhere including the walkway and laundry room which made the whole house very comfortable. If you have very young children or elderly persons travelling with you, do note that the staircase is very steep. Apart from that, it was a great experience!

Thank you for your stay. Looking at you traveling abroad with a small child and lots of big luggage, we thought two things. One is that all the staff have to make your little child comfortable in Kanazawa, and the other is that "Singaporeans enjoy wonderful family trips". Please enjoy your trip to Japan in your next destination, Tokyo.

Wow what can I say.. this house was beyond perfect and without a doubt the best place we stayed in Japan. How often do you get to stay in the house of a samurai? The owner Hitty is one of the nicest people we’ve ever met. So warm and hospitable, he really made our visit memorable from start to finish. The house and decoration is stunning - everything is well thought out and made us feel at home. The location is great only 5 mins walk to the station and within walking distance of all major sites. Hitty gave us great tips on things to do - we especially loved the D T Suzuki museum. Kanazawa is a wonderful place to visit with lots to see from contemporary art to historic geisha and samurai districts. I 100% recommend choosing to stay here if you visit Kanazawa.. we are grateful to have such fond memories of Kanazawa. Thank you Hitty for your amazing hospitality.

Wow, what a gentle British and French, you guys. And I am sure you enjoyed the trip very much. You experienced the D. T. Suzuki museum and got an esoteric Zen philosophy book. You visited the 21st century art museum, Nomura samurai house, the fish market, Kenroku-Park, and the Geisha areas .. You were lucky to see three Geisha. You ate lots of local food too including Black throat sea-perch and crab! You have adventured the back road you do not know. You were Wow travelers.
