Clean and Simple

Posted 12 Aug 2015
Pros: Amazingly clean facilities. Which is a great thing to see in a hostel.
Location: BUY GROCERIES ON YOUR WAY IN. If you want to cook yourself, the closest supermarket is 1.5hours, round trip by car.
An amazing hostel, and on of the cleanest I've EVER BEEN IN!!! Seriously, this place is really well maintained. Easy access to nice hiking trails, view points and natural surroundings. During my late start, made a little squirrel friend, that I named chippy. My only minor complaint, would be the confusion in the "closure" time. Wanting to have a late start, was given a wakeup call without request, was told that everything was closed by 11am until 5pm, but then was told it was okay to stay only because I mentioned that I had planned on a late start. Otherwise great!! Really nice group guests to get along with and the hostel manager was also really lovely. A place to really get away and disconnect, which i think everyone should do once in a while.

Excellent Mountain Retreat; Great hostess!

Posted 5 Aug 2015
Pros: The warm welcome from hostess Anita and her helpfulness during my three night stay. The 'mountain, log cabin' setting added to the enjoyment.
Cons: More comfortable mattresses!...and the option of chiropractic style pillows for people with neck problems.
Location: I was attending the Canmore Folk Music Festival, so location for me was key. Also close to Kananaskis Village with a restaurant and coffee shop.
It was my first time staying at a Hostel, and it was a great experience. Met lots of interesting people and exchanging stories from our lives was most enjoyable. The hostel in Kananaskis is in a great mountain setting in the Canadian Rockies, and the log cabin structure adds to the ambiance of the stay. It was clean, warm and friendly. I plan to return again, and would recommend this hostel to friends and anyone wanting a great 'mountain get-a-way'.
