From the moment I got off of the highway and onto the property of this beautiful retreat, I felt relaxed and completely at ease.
I was greeted by Rolf, who gave me a wonderful history of the owners and the property itself. He even helped me carry my luggage up to my suite.
The view from the terrace was perfect! I could see the river as I listened to it race downstream while birds sang and crickets chirped.
The property has hiking trails and I made sure to take a little nature walk and breathe in the aromatic mountain air.
It was a short drive into town where I was able to get dinner, drinks, and meet a few of the locals.
This has been an incredible experience. The one and only issue I had is that I couldn’t stay longer!
If you’re looking for a serene getaway, Hearthstone Elegant Lodge is definitely the place! I will be back again and again for sure!

I loved the spaciousness of the room and the elegant interior of the room and lobby area. Rolf checked us in and shared with us some of the history of the inn. The whole experience was so much more than I expected!

The nearby town is unique. The locals are friendly. The lodge is beautiful! Rolf, at the front desk, was knowledgeable!

The steep gravel driveway threw me for a loop but I made it (motorcycle)! Breakfast is offsite but excellent.
Very quiet. The man I spoke to on the phone was pleasant and very service oriented

The hotel staff were very rude initially. A gal came down and offered to find the clerk, might have been the owner, and she offered to check me in when she was unable to locate him. Went to the room and my wife took a nap and i was relaxing on the patio. He called and woke up my wife. I tried to call him back but he was at our door knocking loudly. He started to berate me for how i checked in. He said she shouldn't have checked us in and i needed to come back and check in. I apologized and went to check in again. He started being nice at that point. Ruined the mood atvthat point. The room was clean, antique decor, great view. I wouldn't stay there again because of the service. The area of Kamiah was very run down and trashy, very disappointing.

While we appreciate your feedback, this is a complete exaggeration of circumstances. You were given a key to your room without paying, by a housekeeper who did not know what she was doing. I cannot help that your wife was taking a nap - you hadn't paid, and I do not possess the powers of telepathy to determine she was napping. When I couldn't reach you on the phone, I came and knocked on your door - again, because you hadn't paid. Normal protocol is pay, then enjoy. I was very nice to you, but stern about not paying. I am sorry you were unsatisfied with almost everything - most of our reviews are Excellent, and Kamiah gets great reviews as well. Next time maybe you'll follow the natural sequence of rightful events in order to get checked in properly, and have a more pleasant experience. During the brief interaction we had, you couldn't seem to put your phone down either, so it would have helped during our moment of communication to do that as well. All the best.
