Upon arriving to 3 Martini’s we found that it had undergone a name change and change in management. They had no availability for us and we were placed in what they sold to us as a “beachfront villa.” We paid extra for this and thanked them. It turned out to be a less than average room down the road covered in plastic and charged well beyond what it was worth. Do not book!

Friendly and charming but chaotic place

Posted 19 Feb 2019 on Hotels
A friendly and charming but chaotic place. Great setting by the beach and close to a couple of restaurants. Stayed two nights, but owner had double booked my room for first night (or thought he had) so ended up giving me his own room for the first night. By the second night he discovered that my original room had been free all the first night...so I moved in there for the 2nd night. Basic but lovely room and views.

Good location & great views but needs much TLC

Posted 8 Feb 2019 on Hotels
The room was large and bright with a great balcony overlooking the sea. The bed was comfortable and I slept well but almost everything about the property appeared broken or dilapidated. The bar was dark and dingy and at first glance appeared closed. The day was saved by Steve and his wife who helped me with my bag and also cooked breakfast.

Personally i think this property was amazing. For the price that you pay you can not beat this location, it is literally 6 steps from the beach. If you want a super fancy room with over the top amenities go stay at a resort, who plans on being in the rooms any way. The bed was really comfy also. Every room has a view of the beach and ocean which you can hear all night. There is no A/c but a fan is provided so i never got overly hot. I loved this location and would stay again 100% for sure. Thing that i really did not like was that my bathroom shower did not have a shower head. There was just a 4 foot flex pipe connected to spout. The water was really hot which was amazing and water pressure was top notch, but it was kind of annoying having to stand there and soap your body then pick up the shower hose and rinse off. It got the job done though. Btw , the rooms are huge, plenty of room for multiple.

Great value for money in a fantastic area. It has rustic charm with huge balcony with amazing views and a very caribbean feel. The proprietor is very friendly and helpful. However it will not be to everyone's taste, especially if you are looking for a luxury escape.

The room was large and the view of the very close beach beautiful. The manager and staff were very nice and the drinks excellent. But... They seemed to not have been expecting us and the shower head was missing, the kitchen sink and toilet non-functioning (but easily fixed with a chain and my husbands expertise). Not really complaining because the price was right - $86. Just happy the manager got a room cleaned for us and graciously treated us to free rum punches. Access to the lovely beach was literally 50 feet - just accross the road from the room.

AWFUL!!! Be aware of ZIKA VIRUS!

Posted 6 Feb 2018
Pros: nothing
Cons: BE HUMANS TO YOUR CUSTOMERS!!
Location: ....
Make sure you are safe to travel to a Zika high risk country like Antigua. I didn't realise this and book a non-refundable stay. When I explained to the hotel that I can't travel due to risk of Zika virus (and I want to have children) they said it's not their problem and charged me the full amount anyway. They had many options: re-list the room, part-refund and just being humans about it, but they chose to say they don't care and it's not their problem. I hope they spend that money well.

Small hotel, beautiful beach and excellent service

Posted 1 Feb 2017 on Hotels
The hotel is located about 30 minutes from town, and is ideal for a remote getaway. If you are looking for a commercial all-inclusive resort with hordes of tourists, this is not it. It is a small hotel with a very local feel but very comfortable and clean. The beach next to the hotel has few visitors but has beautiful white sand. The view from the balconies of any of the upstairs rooms (where we stayed) is unbelievable. Kirsten made sure our stay was extra special. She upgraded our room for free. She makes the dinners for us herself, and the food is EXCELLENT. Her rum punch is to die-for and is perfect after a long day of snorkeling or swimming. She was very helpful and had many suggestions for local places we could visit. My only advice - bring some insect-repellent because mosquitoes are common everywhere in Antigua.

Best Deal on the Island

Posted 7 May 2016 on Hotels
My wife, Marlinee, and I recently enjoyed a 4 night stay at Three Martini during a visit to Antigua and strongly recommend it to travelers looking for reasonably priced accommodations with a more local flavor than many of the more touristy resorts scattered around the island. Granted, the rooms aren't air-conditioned, the rooms aren't serviced daily (though any requests we made were cheerfully and speedily fulfilled), there's no shuttle service (you should consider renting a car-it's the best way to see all of the diverse beaches and villages on the Island), and the rooms are not accessible to the physically limited. My wife and I didn't miss any of these things. The views from the balcony onto one of the nicest beaches (Turner's) on the Island make for wonderful sunsets. The hotel offers delicious meals, and is located nearby (easy walking distance) other restaurants and bars offering wonderful food (OJ's and Jaquie O's stand out, the latter offering full beachside service, including umbrella beds, which Three Martini does not). One of the best features of the hotel is the owner, Godfrey, whose warmth and charm added immeasurably to our stay, and whose wealth of local knowledge gave us greater insight into the island and its inhabitants then we'd have ever gained otherwise. If you are looking for something other than a generic resort stay, something more local and authentic, then Three Martini is the place for you.
