More than just a hotel

Posted 30 Aug 2017
Chandelao Garh is more than just a good hotel. It's an experience. Facilities, the food and service are nearly impecable and the best I've found in India. But what really stands out is the experience and the tours offered. Even though it's situated in a small village, you should spend at least a couple nights here. So glad we've found this place to recharge batteries and see rural India.

A vacation to relax

Posted 3 Mar 2015 on Hotels
The hotel is good with a really beautiful property. It's a wonderful place to relax. However, food needs improvement. Buffet breakfast was ordinary and so was dinner. Although after bringing it to the notice of the owner, authentic Rajasthani food was served for next dinner on my demand. That day the food was really good and was appreciated by all other guests too.

Lovely experience in secluded and serene hotel

Posted 3 Mar 2015 on Hotels
It was a great experience. The hotel looks beautiful and has all the required amenities. Service is also good. Food needs improvement. Room rates should be on CP basis (breakfast included). Hotel does not have flexibility to choose a-la-carte for major meals (only option is buffet) which makes the entire deal expensive

Wonderful, wonderful, absolutely wonderful

Posted 25 Nov 2014
Pros: Everything
Cons: The beer was too cold.
Location: The "safari" which wasn't really a safari, but just a drive in though the country side, was probably the highlight of our stay in India.
After the madness of Delhi, this place is heaven. Experience the real India, without the tourists. The fort has basic, rustic charm. Think 4 star hotel, but better than 6. You wont understand till you see it. The best way to see Jodhpur, is a day visit from here. It was warm but not too hot in November. It must be hell on wheels in summer.

a wonderful place to unwind and chill out

Posted 3 Feb 2014 on Hotels
It's a great escape from the busyness of Jodphur and is a place to unwind and chill out. The hotel is about 1 hours drive from the railway station in a small village. A good place to do stargazing as the night sky is clear. Take a torch as there was a couple of small power cuts whilst we were there.

Peace and Serenity in the Desert

Posted 27 Nov 2012 on Hotels
This hotel is in the middle of a tiny desert village, about 40km east of Jodhpur. The hotel is a converted old fort building which is set in beautiful gardens - it is quite superb and very atmospheric. It was so wonderful to be in such a peaceful location after being in large, loud and very polluted Indian cities. I felt as if I was able to regain my sanity and peace of mind again during my 2 night stay. Being abke to breathe fresh, non polluted air was a joy also! The lunch and dinner buffet served was lovely (breakfast was ok - nothing special) - all very good quality and the roof top used for dinner is quite a beautiful setting - quite romantic really! Upon request, a very nice driver was also arranged for me at relatively reasonable cost to travel to Jaiselmer. My only complaint is that there is no transparency about the cost and charging of food and drinks. At no stage are you required to sign anything and no pricing is ever discussed until a bill is presented at the end when checking out. It was all very reasonably priced for the quality - but it would have been nice to have been informed what I was going to be charged and that I was also being charged for water.

Sehr charmantes gepflegtes Heritage-Hotel

Posted 21 Nov 2016 on Ebookers
