The whole experience has been dreadful.
Firstly, I cancelled this booking well within the free cancellation timeframe, there must have been a glitch in your system.
Then I was informed you would contact Mango Villa for refund, and the booking wasn’t cancelled. Because, if I was a no show there would be no chance of refund.
I reached out to find out what was happening and heard nothing.
I then decided to go to the villa. As I was unaware of my status with refund. I gave them an hour notice only to discover we couldn’t drive down there due to access. It was dark, dogs barking and the villa was not ready and no one to meet us.
I have two elderly parents, one with a walking stick and one with diabetes.
The villa was miles away from everything and unsafe and dangerous to leave two elderly parents there. The villa is isolated and we did not feel safe. The list goes on.
When Yanni came he was very understanding. This whole event has been one of the worse experiences and has started my holiday off to a bad start.
Do not stay here

We contacted you on the 5th of October to request information about your upcoming booking. In this message we mentioned our check in time 2-5pm as we do not have staff on property 24hrs. You were quick to tell us that you cancelled your booking but you were unable to show any cancellation from either Wotif nor Expedia. We had been on calls with them to help you several times however it seems you never cancelled (as per Expedia and Wotif). As per our cancellation policy, this was a last-minute cancellation (1 day prior) thus non-refundable (we informed you about it in the 5th at 13:46, 13:57, 14:21 and again on the 6th at 07:36) so you were very aware of the situation and cancellation fee despite your claim you had no idea about it. On the morning of your due check in (at this point you were still saying you would not come), you confirmed at 08:52 that you would use the credit we nicely offered as commercial gesture to you “to use at another time” (quoting your message). You then sent a message at 18:02 saying you were at the villa (mind you we did mention check in is until 5pm and let us know in case of late arrival) while we were still being told you wouldn’t come. When you reach the villa you have been abusive to our team, harassing them about food (we are not a hotel but a private villa… so there’s no restaurant, you obviously knew about this), and while we offered to take you and your parents to a restaurant or order food for you, you simply said no and 7minutes after you arrived, you sent “They are diabetic and hungry” (you should really consider not coming to do a check-in in a private villa if your travel companion need to eat within 2min). Afterwards you left saying your disabled companion couldn’t pass the step of the villa (nowhere are we claiming to be handicapped accessible, this is the basic when travelling with disabled, search for disabled access property). We trust you’ll plan your next holidays a bit more efficiently and refrain from blaming a property on a mistake of your own next time.

Overall a more authentic Bali accommodation in the heart of the local village which is what we were looking for. Its location is very private and staff were fabulous, entertaining and great to chat with. Location is about midway along Jimbaran and walking distance to most everything. Andrea is a very helpful host and would recommend. If you are after authenticity within the city at a good price this ticks the boxes

The villa was the perfect place to relax and enjoy our time in Bali. The villa is spacious and comfortable with several seating options with the hammock, lounge chairs and patio furniture. The pool was also nice to have for when it got hot in the middle of the day. The property is about a 5 minute walk to the beach and close to a good Spanish restaurant. Andrea was a very welcoming host and very helpful and considerate.

In the middle of everything but quiet
Posted 10 Sep 2017 on HotelsWe picked the Mango Tree for the last leg of our 2 weeks in Bali for its location. Not only was it great to visit everything we wanted to see in the south side of Bali but we found a hidden gem of place to stay. A little off the beaten path but was warmly welcomed and shown to our Villa which was quiet, clean and tucked in beautiful gardens. Every am we had a great lite breakfast on our patio by our pool which was customized to our likes! Walking to the beach and great sunsets are minutes away with lots of choices for restaurants and sunning. And sadly when it was time to leave Mango Tree it was a 10 min trip to the airport. Thanks to the great friendly staff that made you feel welcomed and at home. Would love to stay there again!

Lovely new villa in traditional style with pol

Pros: Overall appearance, everything worked properly, private pool and courtyard.
Cons: The bed is a bit harder than I like.
Location: The villa is in a secluded location at an easy walking distance from Jimbaran beach, seafood cafes, and a good number of other eateries.
This villa is located within an easy walk to the beach and seafood cafes, but in a quiet secluded location. The villa is spacious and very attractive, with lovely timber floors and semi-traditional style ceiling. There are two ceiling fans and an air conditioner. All of the fittings work properly. As well as the villa itself, we loved the private courtyard, which has a gate that can be bolted from the inside, and a small swimming pool, which is chin-deep and cool, and we had many refreshing skinny dips. The owner supplies a continental breakfast and the room is well cleaned every day. She will help to book restaurants, taxis, etc., and gave us good recommendations re local eateries. Don't miss Cuca if you like Modernist Cuisine as ⅓ of the Australian big-city prices.

Disappointing

Pros: None
Cons: This property needs an overhaul. Room are musty, mildew smell. Toilet needs proper cleaning. Hammock and sun beds are not cleaned at all.
Location: Difficult to locate, 10 mins walk to Jimbaran Beach.
This will be our first and last stay in Mango Tree Villa. The owner and manager are very nice people, no question about that but the property itself needs immediate maintenance. Stayed at Gecko villa.
