Enough about Porter! The area of Dunvegan and the Atholl House is the best place to be!

Atholl house is a lovely B&B in Dunvegan Scotland. It's located in a wonderful area for exploring Skye. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was good and they can make a take away breakfast if you are on an early start. The lounge was lovely to sit in at the end of the day and enjoy a beverage before dinner, which was quite tasty.
The room wasn't huge but it was clean and well provisioned. We like the eco friendly policies of Atholl House. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were not to our particular liking, just a bit off.
Overall we would definitely stay here again if we were in this area.

Excellent; would stay again

Atholl House is a lovely inn, our favourite stay of a three week trip to Scotland. We were warmly welcomed by our hosts for our four night stay. Our room was very comfortable and we so appreciated the welcoming lounge where we had a drink at the end of busy days exploring the glorious Isle of Skye. The on-site restaurant offered self-serve breakfasts (included) with very nice locally sourced options, and great dinners as well. It truly felt like a home away from home. We highly recommend Atholl House and hope to return one day.

Ideal base for isle of skye
Posted 22 Oct 2023 on HotelsWonderful small hotel which is very clean and nicely appointed. Really makes one feel at home, including the lounge area and fire place. Hotel personnel were wonderful and service was excellent, including restaurant.

The hotel was safe, warm, cozy. I particularly liked the breakfast. Our room was very small, even by Scotland standards. It was not a happy moment to check prices after we had checked in to find a HUGE reduction in the nightly rate. But we did have a good stay there.

You were in one of our double rooms, which are cosy rooms with a standard British double bed. For anyone wanting a little more space they may want to consider our kingsize or superking rooms. My husband and I loved our time at Atholl House and are already planning a return visit. The house itself has been renovated and decorated beautifully and the rooms are spacious and comfortable.
Breakfast was wonderful each morning and we booked a table one night for dinner which was also delicious. Jennie and the rest of the staff were so kind and accommodating and we loved spending evenings with a drink in the lounge.
We loved the Dunvegan area and being able to walk down to Blas Cafe, The Old School restaurant, and other local spots.

Felt like being at home with friends. Exceptionally friendly staff, rooms felt more like cozy bedrooms you'd have in your house rather than a hotel room. Food was delicious, the whole building is super cute. Very obvious how much work was put in during the 2021 remodel to make it feel like somewhere you could stay forever. If I go back to Skye (which I hope I do!) I will absolutely stay here again.

When we took over the hotel in 2021 we wanted it to be so that people feel totally at home and able to relax - so it means the world to us that this is what you experienced. I am so glad you also loved our continental breakfast and homecooked dinners.

Atholl House Hotel , Skye

A good easy to use shower, only fault was no extras ie shower cap, shampoo, conditioner, tissues, these are basic in most hotels
I would also have like more shelf space in the bathroom
The staff were all fantastic, very friendly and helpful
Breakfast was continental which suited me, plenty of choice but no cooked breakfast available
Evening meal was basic and edible
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel

I am so delighted that you loved your stay. We do not provide small bottles of shampoo etc as a conscious environmental choice but do provide quality locally produced hand soap and hair and body wash that we refill - I am sorry these were not what you wanted and we will take on board your comments on this.
