We had a pleasant stay at Hotel Korpikartano. The room and bathrooms were both pretty small but you have to take into account the building’s history as it used to be a boarding school. One thing I will say is the activities and meals were pretty over priced m. 29 Euro per person for dinner each night was a bit ridiculous considering what it was. The hotel is located quite a way from the nearest town so unless you have your own transport, you don’t have a choice but to eat dinner at the hotel. It is a lovely peaceful area where the hotel is situated, right on the lake and in the woods. Overall we had a nice stay.

Thank you for your visit in Korpikartano and nice to hear that you had a pleasant stay. Indeed Korpikartano has a history as a former Sami boarding school and almost 10 years we have been a nature hotel. We have 3 different room categories, with different room sizes as well as with different prices for guests to choose depending on the budget.
Sorry to hear also about the meals and activities. For 3 course meals we use often local ingredients and small producers as well as fair trade products, make many courses and desserts ourselves from very beginning, as well as transfer costs for products which are not growing or produced in Lapland are extremely high, so unfortunately all costs are much more expensive than in big cities in big hotels. Now we started to have on Thursdays a vegetarian day on guests suggestion for environmental reasons but unfortunately Lapland is not producing many vegetarian ingredients. We will follow the feedback about these Thursdays for final decision.
Our activity groups we try to keep small, often only 4-8 guests for guests to enjoy more about guidance and activity itself, so unfortunately that also makes activity cost higher.
But all ideas and recommendations for making services better, also price wise are warmly welcome!

Huone oli siisti ja siellä oli mikro, jääkaappi sekä vedenkeitin. Mukeja ja haarukka, veitsi ja lusikka-setti olisi ollut tarpeellinen, toki ilmankin pärjäsi. Petivaatteet oli hyvät ja kerrankin oli hyvä tyyny!

Posted 3 Aug 2021 on HotelsJuuri odotusten mukainen paikka ja kokemus. Palvelua oli kehuttu ennakkoon ja se kyllä oli ystävällistä kiireestä huolimatta. Kelit olivat kylmät ja niin vähän myös huoneessa, mutta eipä tuo juurikaan haitannut. Sauna oli kiva! Ja aamiainen erityisesti!
