P&V Feb Half term

Posted 26 Feb 2019 on Hotels
On the whole it's an average property, that is if you know what to expected from a 4* P&V apartment block. It's got faults (only 2 lifts to serve the whole building, toilet in room stank, small rooms, little storage space for food, really poor free wifi - €25 upgrade for the week not justified)... ...but it has redeeming features too (nice-to-have swimming pool and sauna, great location, not overly priced, most staff appeared pleased to help even though busy, 4 reasonably solid beds that weren't bunks)). Ignore the tourist board rating of 4 stars as it has, at best, a 3 star feel to it. Overall, I would be happy to stay here again, despite the negative points, because it fits a mid price budget and compares favourably to similar properties nearby. That said, I think I'll try the Alpenrose around the corner from the P&V building next time as for not much more money you get much more quality.

The property was very basic and we were asked to clean and do some of the preparation for the next users of the property

Really enjoyed staying here, it had everythin we needed, a wel equipt kitchenette, ski lockers, a heated outside pool and sauna, amazing views and super close to the ski lifts, a 15 min walk in to the town for restaurants and bars- it was a great location. WhAt I would say, the town isn’t huge and it’s a busy ski area, we soon learnt we had to make dinner reservations the day before to save walking around trying to find somewhere to get in! The hotel staff are very helpful, we had to ask for extra towels and pillows and a hair dryer, which they were happy to get us. La fondue restaurant is really good and they even have a bakery that you can put an order in, we ordered croissants and a baguette for each morning. Also be prepared to buy extra toilet roll and washing up/ dish washer tablets- it’s a residence so there’s no house keeping during your stay and it states you must leave your kitchen area clean. We had no issue with this at all. The hotel lobby also had a lovely log fire and board games free of use behind reception. It’s not 5* luxury but a very quaint French alpine stay in an excellent location.

We absolutely loved the location. Great access to the amenities, ski school and skipass/ ski equipmet/ ski lifts. A great place for families with kids. Bar and restaurant pleasant enough but not to far from town centre where you can go out at night. Absolutely loved our stay. We were 4 families with children and we all enjoyed our stay. I do recommend the hotel.

Functional

Stayed for a week (2 adults, 2 kids) in an appartment for 3/4. Overall its not too bad - but it would be too small/claustrophobic for 4 adults. Redeeming feature is it's proximity to the lifts at Bergers. Pros: Very handy for the lifts at Bergers - Can ski back to just across the road Close to lots of parking Lots of storage space for clothes etc Kitchen pretty well equipped - it's got a dishwasher! Great view from the balcony Decent on site restaurant Cons: Living room very small and cramped for 4 people Nowhere to store/prepare food Ski/boot lockers tiny and room unheated Next time I'll look for somewhere slightly larger.
