A surprising jewel of a hotel
Posted 28 Sep 2018 on Hotels We had a wonderful stay at Hotel du Lac. This hotel, set in idyllic Huelgoat, was clean and comfortable. The staff was amazing! They were friendly and helpful. The view from our room was stunning. The food at the hotel was delicious. Breakfast was generous and the dinner was amazing.

Great spot for a relaxing stay

Pros: We had a family room which consisted of two bedrooms with a hallway/bathroom in the middle - all completely private.
Cons: Bathroom was very compact, but clean.
Location: Great town. Well marked walking trails in the forest. Would definitely come back here again.
Stayed here for one night on the way down to the coast. Great location - lake view, plenty of walking in the forest, lively little town. Great pizza nearby. Welcoming staff.

Beautiful setting for a hotel overlooking the lake

Pros: The staff were all very friendly and it was great to be able to eat a good meal at the hotel after travelling.
Cons: The downside was the tiny portable cabin bathroom and no window! Smaller than the Plymouth/Roscoff ferry even though there was space for a normal one
Location: Huelgoat is 30 km south of Morlaix so great for exploring. The Tour de France was in action when we were there so busy and little space in car park.
A great location for exploring West Brittany. I am delighted I found this hotel for my sister and I who were visiting my brother in Botmeur. It was not as near as had hoped to get to beaches though but was very relaxing after a long drive.

Fabulous hotel, excellent food

Pros: Comfortable rooms, the menu is superb and staff friendly and accommodating
Cons: Perhaps tea making facilities in the rooms,
Location: The National Forrest is literally on the doorstep and is beautiful, a must see, Huelgoat is a lovely little town, people sociable and welcoming
This is the second time this year we have stayed here, excellent hosts, very accommodating especially when our return ferry was cancelled, no problems booking a second night. Rooms lovely and comfortable, the heating is very good and not restricted. Will return again
