Beautiful property surrounded by horses and mountains. Only a 9 minute drive to secret lagoon. So cosy and comfortable. Easy access and we watched the sunset was dreamy! Highly recommend.

Too expensive for what it was

Posted 10 Aug 2023 on Hotels
Great location(relatively close to geysers), but overall it was too expensive for what it was, compared to every where else we stayed at in Iceland. The sofa bed is uncomfortable. There’s no trash cans. It’s very challenging to find the place. The instruction on the email is poorly translated to English. The owner was very nice and responsive on the phone.

Hi Anahita, thank you for staying and your review. Of course there are trash bins, 2 of them in the closet under the sink. Thanks for the kind words.

The host was very nice and super responsive when we had issues with the wifi, although it was never fixed during our stay. Biggest frustration was the advertised blackout curtains which didn’t cover the whole windows. The one in front of the double glass doors were a good 18 inches off the ground letting in a lot of light in the middle of summer which made it hard for my kids to get to sleep. Bed was super soft! But they were 2 single beds pushed together so I ended up in the crack a few times! Fold out bed is quite small though.

Hi thank you for your nice review. We have replaced the curtains. Also the single beds, now there is a dbl bed and pull out sofa.

I have taken pictures there were spider webs all over the room . House was very dirty . There were no tissue papers . Utensils were dirty. We preferred to stay out as much as possible and. Only came back at 1 pm to just sleep. Horrible experience and completely water our money. This was only bad experience we had at Iceland otherwise everything about our trip was perfect.

Hi, I am amased and very surprised to read this review. I honesty doubt that your are writing about the correct accomodation as it is out of sink with our guests experience. I am sorry that you feel this way, if you are writing about correct place. It is always very well cleaned, but if was the case I would like to refund you for part of your fees.

When we arrived, we found a well equipped and handsome cabin in a beautiful place. However, I would not stay there again in summer for one reason: during the night we were eaten alive by bugs. When we first got in, I noticed a lot of no-see-ums tapping to get out the windows. Perhaps because of unusual summer warmth, it was uncomfortably warm in the cabin, but though we thought of getting window air, we couldn’t leave any windows or doors open because of the clouds of bugs. Even so, all three of us were bitten on every bit of exposed skin during the night. Not only did we not get much sleep, we are still itching all over a week later. A look in the guest book suggests that most people visit in winter, when this cabin would provide quiet and close access to the glacier and a view of northern lights. I would come to this property then, but in the summer this place needs screens and fans. We paid for our stay here with numerous days and nights of scratching at bug bites.

Hi dear guest,I am sorry to hear this, but the lúsmý bugs are new in Iceland, and come 2-3 times per summer for few days. They are annoying but hard to escape otherwise but to have the windows closed over the night. We have put up nets over the window to help keeping them out.Good you where pleaced with other things and the cabin itself. All the best and thanks for staying.

Decent for last minute stay. Water did smell like sulphur and the cottage was very small for 4.
