Great all-round hotel

Posted 20 Feb 2017
Pros: smart, clean, friendly, convenient
Cons: sauna changing/showers, games room
Location: skiing in Niederau is good and you can take the bus to the bigger areas of Auffach and Alpbach. The Auffach gondola is being upgrade for 17/18
This is a big hotel but it has a small hotel atmosphere. The staff are all really friendly and the service is first class - very attentive and always available to get you what you need, even when the hotel is full, like it was on our half term stay. The restaurant is nicely separated into different themed areas, which gives it a cosy feel, and the food was good, with choice of 3 main courses. The room was decorated to a high standard and was large enough for the three of us with loads of wardrobe space. The pool area was very nice and coped well with large numbers of families. The sauna is supposed to be naked but the Brits were struggling with this and kept their bathers on - could maybe do with a bit more segregation from the pool area and more showers/changing, note that you can hire pool towels and I think robes. Wifi is only available in the bar area, which is where people congregate after dinner, although it would be nice to have a games room as an alternative. Access to skiing is first class - with Poma lift and T-bar opposite and ski bus stop right outside. Parking is also easy. Only downside was someone taking a pair of our hire skis, I presume by accident, but the hire shop said they would turn up. Suggest you take a bit of care when leaving hire skis in the ski room as they all look the same - maybe mix them up.

Pros: Room clean. No shampoo in the room
Cons: .Wireless is partially available just in front of the desk.I wouldn't recommend to someone who needs Internet to come to this hotel
Location: Not too much to do in the near area
I liked the hotel ,but missing wireless and charging for swimming pool towels is a bed issue. The hotel is not cheap ,therefore I think that wireless should be supplied at all time and in any place. The router that the hotel manager is using is a home router that cannot cover the area and let more than few people to use it at the same time.

New Years at the Harfenwirt

Posted 5 Jan 2016 on Hotels
Spent a lovely week, with my wife and two children at the Harfenwirt over the new year. We were given a lovely room in the new part of the hotel, massive kingsize bed and a pull out double for the kids. The room was exceptionally clean, comfortably warm with a great view. The cleaning and waiting staff did a great job, Herbert was nice enough but his brother was a little miserable, only gripes, no tap water available at dinner only small bottled and free wifi a bit hit or miss. Food typically Austrian, good quality, didn't feel the need to eat anywhere else! Thanks for a great stay!!

As good as ever

Posted 20 Jul 2015
Pros: The location - the most relaxing and beautiful place in all of Austria
Cons: The only thing we missed was tea and coffee making facilities in the room
Location: Walking - and lots of it, interspersed with stops at the local "Alms" (Tirolean hostelries serving good value local cuisine and beer)
Herbert (the hotel owner) is a legend. Where else can you go to a hotel where the owner personally comes around the Dining Room every morning and evening to say hello to you and ask you about your day? He also learns a little about each of his guests and makes recommendations to you, for activities and events which he thinks will appeal to you that are occurring around the valley. On his recommendation we visited the Norderberg Alm on the Sunday afternoon for excellent local food and local traditional Tirolean music. We were the only "tourists" there, (everyone else was local to the Valley).

+Mukava hotelli hyvien yhteyksien varrella (skibuss). +Mukavasti rinteitä lähistöllä -Tyynyt huonot. -Ei erilliskierrätystä. +Yllätyksenä, illallinen kuului hintaan.

Preis-/Leistung sehr gut!

Posted 1 Jan 2018 on Hotels
