Hostel and staff were fine, socket positions and introduction of bunk curtains in dorms would be useful

Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean facilities. Beautiful surroundings. Wonderful bird feeder with a red squirrel and variety of birds.

Pros: Price
Location: Great walks
Great location, friendly staff, clean rooms. This was our first time in a hostel. We were very impressed with the overall location and facilities. Lovely to wake up in the morning and hear the birds singing and the stream running past outside. Pub close by for evening meals.

Nice yha hostel in the middle of the Lakes

Having said that, our 5-bedded room was nice, the bathroom facilities were fresh and clean, the lounge areas were comfortable, the food was good, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The price was reasonable, and it's in a splendid location. What more could you want??

Nice hostel in secluded part of lake district
Posted 23 Jul 2018Close to Scarfell pike. Can walk up Scar fell from hostel.
Wifi was terrible and didn't work at all for me but I know it did for some people.
Had a 5 bed private room which was lovely but one of the beds is a double. Fine for us as we only had 4 people.

Great stay
Posted 11 Oct 2017 on HotelsWe came up just for one night before climbing Scafell Pike as I'm currently in training for Everest Base Camp. Hostel was great, room was comfy and very glad we paid the extra for the breakfast as it set us up for the the long day ahead. Staff were very helpful and I'd definitely recommend.

Generally very good.Breakfast was good,but meal club in evening was disappointingThe standardised menu for each day gives no alternative for a
vegetarian.to the set main course and sweet.
