I would recommend this lovely village property. The setting is forest and pasture land and we were fortunate to dine with a mix of locals and guests. The room was roomy and comfortable. Our contact person was helpful by showing us how to operate everything. Seems like a well used and loved setting for a good meal and restful night.

Posted 31 Jul 2021 on HotelsCountry Inn and restaurant 20 minutes drive from Hexham, but well situated for anyone doing Hadrian's Wall. The room was excellent, confortable bed and sofa. And unusually easy to get radios 3 and 4 on the TV. Supper menu was un complicated but well cooked, wine list from the respected Corney & Barrow. Wide choice for breakfast (but no kippers).

Lovely quiet pub hotel with good food
Posted 19 Sep 2020 on HotelsA very friendly welcome and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. Stay affected by Covid-19 precautions which were well thought out and implemented. Room was comfortable and clean. Food was good, with a reasonable menu choice. Deserts marginally on the expensive side for the quantity but overall I like the Barrasford very much. Plenty of parking and not too far off the main route from Scotland south so if you want a stopover going north or south I heartily recommend the Barrasford.
