excellent stay!

Posted 29 Jul 2022 on Hotels
we stayed for 3 nights and had the 2 bedroom villa. upon entrance we were greeted with impeccable service and it was the same during the entire stay. the rooms were clean and had room service daily even during covid. the pool temp was slightly hotter than what we expected but was enjoyed daily nonetheless. the breakfast buffet was good with tons of selections. the beach was called “little bay” and was somewhat empty much to our surprise. i personally thought that was the best beach in the kenting area. theres reef on the leftside of the beach and you can even snorkel as well. we will definitely return next time we are in kenting. booking the villa rooms also gives you free shuttle from kaohsiung to kenting. overall an awesome stay

Older facilities but wonderful service

Posted 26 Dec 2021 on Hotels
Big resort with lots of activities for the kids. The facilities are a bit dated but we spent most of our time at the beach w/semi-private access via a small path. Despite the older facilities, the service personnel were wonderful and can’t be faulted. Service was great (from front desk to restaurant staff)! Overall we had a wonderful time and would consider coming back during the warmer months to use the private pools in the villa.

Not recommended for the luxury traveler.

Got lost at the entrance. Gate guard spoke no English. I feel we were the only fools to book a villa room. The room was outdated. The private pool was empty. Required at least 50 minutes for staff to fill it and we didnt want it filled because the pool looked unclean with leaves all over. I booked the villa to use the private pool and jacuzzi. Didnt do either. The jacuzzi was just a shallow outdoor bathtub. We also notice the private pool was not so private because the normal hotel guests on the 2nd and 3rd floor can just look down their balcony into our “private yard”. The villa’s lounge had dessert, coffee and tea, but the items offered were the same as the dismal afternoon tea buffet they had at the cafe. Breakfast buffet was decent. The villa gave a complimentary cup of carrots to feed the deers they have there (6 measly pieces between 4 deers). 2 bites & each carrot slice was gone. Most of the staff doesnt speak English and to get to the private beach, you have to go down 3 levels, walk through a large empty area (under construction), down a corridor, down a path of wooden stairs and then beyond two large boulders to a beach full of other guests. We stayed at the Chateau Beach Resort 3 years ago and their beach access was literally right next to their swimming pools and the beach was empty. Lots of lounge chairs just waiting for people to lay on them. That was what I expected at Howard Villa. Very disappointed for twice the cost. Front desk service was good.

Southern Taiwan with a few extras added

Posted 28 Oct 2018 on Hotels
The Balinese Villa was amazing; both clean and spacious. The inside of the Villa had a separate seating area, 2 TVs, 2 beds, fridge and bar area. The outer portion of the Villa had a totally private whirlpool, bathroom, shower and a semi-private plunge pool (rooms on upper floors had a view of plunge pool). The staff were helpful although this sometimes required them referring us to someone with better English language skills. The resort decor and amenities could use some updating (based on western standards), but everything was clean with a slight retro feel. The breakfast was mostly Asian themed cuisine and an adequate day starter although it is only offered until 10a. The proximity to the Kenting Main Street area was great (close enough, but not disturbed by any late night noise). If you have a few extra dollars to spend on your accommodations you will not be disappointed.

Cons: The pool water shouldn't be boiling hot. We couldn't even go in. And the chairs in the living room were so very uncomfortable.
It's my favorite place to stay in Kenting. Just improve on getting the pool temperature fixed and maybe some more comfortable chairs for the living room.

A great stay!

Howard Villa is a part of a larger hotel. The Villa has its own separate entrance and parking area. Breakfast/lunch was included. There are 3 options to choose from: breakfast buffet, lunch buffet, or set menu breakfast. We enjoyed both the set menu breakfast and lunch buffet. Service was impeccable and everyone was very friendly at the Villa. We'll go back the next time we visit the Kenting area.

The best place to stay in Kenting! The room was beautiful, and we loved the private garden with the pool and hot tub. The staff were friendly and helpful.
