We are sorry that we were not able to provide you with a suite as requested upon arrival and several times over the weekend, as you mentioned that you actually wanted a suite and not a luxury room. In future, kindly ensure that the correct room is selected and booked on the booking profile to avoid dissipointment or kindly contact the establishment before arrival to confirm if an upgrade from your original booking will be possible

Over-selling but under-delivering

Up arrival welcoming was underwhelming. The guy didn't wear a mask or give us full details re our stay, breakfast venue etc (the basics). For almost R2000 - We had to carry our own bags to the room. When we got to the room, we paid for champagne but got sparkling wine instead. No coffee/ espresso machine as advertised. No robes or slippers as advertised. We eventually got beige robes but no slippers when we asked. The aircon, jet tub and curtains didnt work properly. The bar fridge was empty, even if we wanted snacks none were available for us to purchase. There was no way of contacting the reception; I had to walk down the stairs to look for the guy to assist with anything. I honestly regretted booking there, my birthday was spoilt as I kept getting disappointed. The shower, the options were scorching hot or freezing cold no in between. I travel alot and can tell you that I have gone to cheaper places that offered better service. Now I know why we we were the only guests booked there; no one would ever go back there. Considering that we booked one of their best rooms; I'd hate to see how the cheaper rooms are. Never again...no thanks!!! Didnt even stay for breakfast as I didn't want to be disappointed further. Don't waste your money going here. The owner clearly has no passion for this so they should go into a different business.

Dear Lerato Thank you for your review on Galagos Lodge. As the owner, regardless of your personal thoughts it is my intention to ensure that every guest we accommodate has a memorable experience. It is therefore that every guest receive a confirmation e-mail with all the details regarding the guest house specified prior to arrival. From our Covid protocols, bath ropes & slippers, breakfast info, mini bar information etc. all discussed in detail. You have responded to the mail thus all information well received. Our covid policy is strict and numerous reviews have been received to compliment and thank us in this regard. The issue regarding your luggage dually noted and I will speak to the host to find our what the reason for this was. The KWV you received on arrival is in fact a champagne, you are welcome to visit their website to confirm this. If you wished to receive a specific bottle of champagne and specified we would gladly have assisted. The aircon and jet bath is in a 100% working condition. There are also blinds in the bathroom and not curtains, I checked and they open and close properly. Bath ropes are in the cupboards upon arrival and the bar fridge is stocked on request and snack hampers etc. is available on request by prior arrangement. My contact number is listed in the room as the contact number for anything you may need or assistance required. You did have the number as you communicated with me prior to arrival, I never received any request for any assistance after your arrival. Not with regards to the shower, bath, aircon, special requests etc. The business travelers we accommodated on the same date expressed their gratitude and compliments. Even though we strive it is not always possible to ensure the 100 percent satisfaction of all our guests, we will however continue in our attempts as we have done over the past 13 years. I am truly sorry that you did not enjoy your stay, inviting you back will unfortunately not serve any purpose as you clearly do not wish to return. I am also sorry that I did not allow the staff to enter your suite to fill your bath tub as you demanded. There are unfortunately certain decisions I have to make as the owner to protect our staff and our reputation as well as the privacy of our guests. In writing a review you have the full right to give your opinion but please refrain from false and misleading information or personal and demoralizing comments Wishing you all the best for future travels.

The welcome was good. The stay was good, amenities are good. Lovely view. Make sure you make a copy of your booking to get into the gate. The gas heated showers...they are a real art to get right!
