It was self check in, I was assured when speaking to someone on Thursday there would be towels, shampoo, soap,etc. the shampoo and soap dispensers were bone dry. We were the only guests there, it looked like it wasn’t even open. The towels were threadbare, we had one roll of toilet paper. The exterior lock looked didn’t have a deadbolt and the door barely shut. There was an old wreck of a camper parked in front, and the blind on the window was broken. It wouldn’t go down. It was a last resort because nothing else was available but the rating on Expedia is a joke.

Property was very dated and dirty. The bathroom was filthy and smelt like urine and there was mouse droppings in the kitchen drawers and cabinets. I would not recommend this property. The area was actually nice.

Get away and relax.

Older cabin but clean and cozy. if you want a 5 star this is not it. If you want your moneys worth this is the place. I liked it a bunch, owners communicated check in via phone the night before and everything was set. I needed a get away for myself and fished right off the docks and it was constant perch & panfish.

We stayed in cabin 9, which appeared to be the only free standing cabin. It was decorated nicely, and had a comfortable campy vibe. Appliances were all clean and in good working condition, bed linens were clean also. We only used one bedroom, the cabin had two. The mattress on the bed was older and a little too firm, but that's a personal preference thing - we still slept just fine. We had no real concerns with the cabin at all. The property sits on the shore of Black Lake. It has 3 docks, which we enjoyed fishing off of. There's plenty of room for boats as well for people who have them. The only negative I really have is the price point. We really needed somewhere in the area so we could visit with our daughter, who lives in Alexandria Bay. Because it was Labor Day weekend, everything in ABay was full, we saw this on Orbitz, and took it. The price advertised was fine, but because we were 2 people, not 1, there was a $100 per night charge for an extra person. I have not encountered this situation before when traveling as a couple and bringing no additional family members. We still stayed and found the Lakeside Lodge to be a decent place, but this policy will probably discourage us from staying in the future.

We did not realize that Orbitz was charging 100 for one extra person as our policy only charges an extra person after 4 guests (and should only be 50 per person after 4 guests). We are going to fix this immediately and would like for you stay with us again in the future without worrying about this mistake. We are sorry that this mistake affected you and will issue a refund for that extra person cost as it should not have applied to you. Thank you again and have a wonderful summer!

The cabin was clean. In order to talk to anyone, you had to leave a message and they would usually get back to you within a couple of hours. The bathroom is very small, one of the doors did not close all the way.

Its a horrible place not reccomend even if they offer to you its free for you its horrible the windows are ve a bugs houses the blankets are alot off hair the matters are trash if you bookna two room so called a suite its only one air conditioner to cool both rooms AIR conditioner turn on and after 5 to 7 mins trip the lady staff who magage property is lying dnt trust on these people trust me just a waste of time and book a new room at other place is very high dnt take chance to book this place no privacy even the door has no locks the cleaning lady if you see on the spot she can open the the door from behind the window get inside the room.and open for you

Hello! This is a very false statement. It seems like you and your family was under the impression that this was a corporate hotel similar to the Holiday Inn but it is a fishing lodge. The lodge receives pest control treatment every week and the air conditioner cools all the rooms as they are relatively small units. All doors contain locks and you can lock the windows from the inside if you wish to do so. Also, the blankets provided are wool blankets that are cleaned efficiently through the wash with two cycles. It was an odd situation when you asked for an upgrade and thought we owned multiple hotels. We are disheartened at the false review but we will take this experience to make sure people are aware that they booked a fishing lodge. Thank you again!

These owners are great!

Although this trip started off a little rocky on arrival, the owner was very helpful, friendly and accommodating once we were able to inform him and his daughter of the issues we had. They even upgraded us for no extra charge to another one of their properties to ensure we were happy with our experience at their properties! Great people and great customer service, with amazing views! Would recommend their properties!
