We spent last night in New Orleans, so we were SO happy to get to Gulf Port and find a nice clean town and a spotlessly clean hotel. The gentleman who checked us in was fantastic. He gave us a tour of the property and made sure we were all settled in. On a 10 scale, I give The Almanett a 12!!!

It has a NOLA type vibe. We were quite comfortable in our stay. Will probably stay again for our next visit to Gulfport.

Place and staff are top notch. Parking can sometimes be a problem.
Good food, very friendly and helpful staff.

2-night stay
Posted 6 Feb 2024 on HotelsIf you’re looking for a change from a chain hotel, this place is a gem. It has just a few rooms and lots of shared spaces for reading, playing games, watching TV, etc. Our room was very comfortable. The downstairs bistro seemed popular - unfortunately we didn’t schedule our activities well enough to hit them during operating hours. There are also attractive outdoor spaces. The owners are accessible, and very friendly and responsive. We enjoyed learning the history of the building and family. We were sorry to leave! I’m not sure the atmosphere would be right for small children, but for two adults it was perfect.
