A very loud fire alarm went off at 4am and went on for quite a while. I was already running on the stairs when it stopped. Goodbye sleep. The following morning I was expecting some apologies but no. When I mentioned it, the guy at the reception very cheerfully said "Oh, that. Yes, there was no fire, it was just a coffee machine. But so we know that the alarm works!" Which is Mecklenburg-Vorpommern idea of sense of humour, maybe.

Standard hotel. Unfortunately it was fully booked and can't offer enough seats at the restaurant. Guest have to search for another place to eat outside of hotel. The rest is ok.

Unfortunately we had a quick stop but the night staff and the morning were very happy and pleasant. Lovely room, great breakfast buffet and across from a castle. We are looking to stay there again on our way back.

Hotel Schlosspark

Pros: We enjoyed the location - right across the street from the Schloss gardens The hotel also provided very secure storage for our bicycles.
Cons: Nothing - there is some remodeling going on, but it did not inconvenience us at all.
Location: The hotel is located right across from the Schloss and is an easy walk into the center of town.
The hotel served us very well as a base for exploring the town and the visiting the Schloss. We did not find many restaurants in town - but found the hotel restaurant to be quite good and reasonably priced.
