Cheap price for family of 4

Posted 19 Dec 2016
The hotel had a slight smell of smoke especially in the room. I felt a little ill at times bc of it. The restaurant was nothing to write home about. We got to the buffet around 9:30am and food was cold. It said the hotel was international but I didn't find it to be international at all. Local hotel that catered to locals. 20 minutes from airport, 35 minutes from train station. Only 1 person spoke English and it wasn't that good.

Bad Hotel

Posted 5 Oct 2015
Pros: Only one member of the staff tried to help us, but overall this hotel was awful.
Cons: Get rid of the roaches. There should be at least one person at the location who speaks fluent English.
Location: The location is not in the best area.
This hotel is terrible. It has roaches. The staff members do not speak English, so non-Mandarin speakers should not stay here. Every time we asked a question, one of the ladies at the front desk kept laughing. We saw roaches in our room, and immediately went to the front desk to express our concern. They offered to move us to another room, and we saw another roach. Do not stay here. There are cigarettes on the floors throughout the hotel; people put the cigarettes out and leave them on the carpet and in the elevator.

nice hotel a bit away from central baiyun

Posted 5 Sep 2015 on Lastminute
Pros: nice bed and quiet room location
Cons: dispute resoloution and clear english signage in rooms for services such as laundry
Location: 10 min by taxi in traffic longer from central baiyun, and not much beside a local market and limited food places in walking distance
My stay here started of well its a nicely furnished hotel, the staff where nice and try there best with the english they know which is limited, but google translate is your friend in this scenario. I stayed here for 10 days and towards the end requested to get a small single load of laundry done e.g. t-shirts underwear which i was not given a price for, and upon receiving them was charged about double the price i should have been charged in china. when i refused to pay i was harassed in my room by the laundry staff who refused to leave on 3 occasions at 11 pm at night and could not get the hotel manager to address the situation as he was not there at all during my stay . I was offered 20% off in the end. Generally speaking the hotel was ok my room was quiet and the bed was nice my main requirements

Good for a Chinese hotel

Posted 20 May 2015 on Hotels
This was good for a Chinese hotel - western toilets and air conditioning. In the room I was in the wallpaper was falling down, the carpet looked fair. There were things we had to figure out on our own. For instance, the AC won't work unless a switch was in the on position by the door. We spent quite a while fooling with the AC controls on the wall before discovering none of that mattered unless the switch was on. No western options for breakfast. No one at the front desk spoke English, but they would usually be able to find a guest who spoke English and Chinese to translate for me. If you've spent time in China, this hotel will be fine for you and reasonable priced. If you've never been to China, you might want to pay more and stay at a newer hotel that is a western chain hotel (Sheraton or Marriott, etc.).

Very excellent facility to stay at. House keeping was great, always provided with what I needed. Provided free breakfast each morning, and room service, and message therapy available on site. Great place to stay at.

BAD LOCATION FOR CANTON FAIR

Posted 2 May 2014 on Hotels
The distance of this hotel from the Canton Fair is wrongly stated in most websites... Its very far from Canton Fair, though u get a hotel shuttle to the fair which reaches you in about 50 mins. Everything except the location was 5*... beyond expectation... you wont get veg food around... room was very big and spacious... the staff was also good.

So So Hotel...not where the map indicated

Posted 28 Apr 2014
Pros: Not Much
Cons: It needs siting correctly on the map. Breakfast needs serious attention for western visitors. The description says it has a gym. Where???
Location: It is under the airport flight path and miles from the city centre.
Arrived in Guangzhou by train late at night. Transfer by taxi from station to hotel should have been 5 mins. Instead I spent over an hour in a taxi looking for a hotel that is more than 20 km away from where Expedia position it! This made the entire stay hard work. Thinking I was stupid, I met 2 Australian and one American the following morning in the lobby, all of whom made a booking based on locality and proximity to Pazhou, only to find it was an hour away in traffic. Diabolical.
