Disappointing communication, otherwise nice

Posted 7 Aug 2023 on Hotels
Ensure you contact the host in advance to arrange a check in time as this is not clear in the confirmation email. Even so, we were disappointed that we had to wait almost an hour to enter the room, despite emailing our arrival time, as the owner had decided to go to the beach. Otherwise, the owner was helpful. The rooms are in a beautiful terraced area and clean.

The property owners were amazing, and very welcoming. The location of the property did not match up and was .4 from where it actually showed. I had to use a flashlight after dark to cross an empty rocking lot. The amenities were extremely outdated in the kitchen; the stove took forever to heat up. The room was very spacious and a large shower with daily house keeping. They did charge $5 Euros per day extra for the AC— this was in very small print in the bottom of the booking. It should have been denoted ** by the amenities listing AC.

Lovely courtyard. Easy Access to Town. AC an issue

Posted 20 Jul 2018
Pros: The room was spacious and clean.
Cons: Extra daily charge for a/c. It was advertised but in the small print. Once we paid we found that the unit had been limited to 26 degrees!
It's an easy walk to the town and main areas. There's a supermarket and bakery near by. The owner took time to tell us how to get to beaches, which bus to take and from where- this was appreciated.

Skiathos town stay

Posted 13 Jul 2017 on Hotels
Returned a week ago and had another fabulous holiday in Skiathos. Our first time staying in town at the Amalthia Studio's. Extremely nice couple own the studios on arrival we were delayed 1.5 hrs they were waiting for us with a map of Skiathos and cold glasses of water much appreciated. They also left us freshly baked cake and a glass of Lemoncello. The studios are basic very clean serviced every day. The coutyard is so pretty and several tables and chairs in the shade or the sun. 4/5 mins into town same for bus stop to go to beaches. 3 supermarkets very close and a large one opposite bus stop.

Great location, beautiful garden, and lovely owner

Posted 8 Jul 2016 on Hotels
Small studio apartments with perfect location (5 min walk in to Skiathos Town). The owner Yiannis was very helpful and spent some time with us when we arrived going through the map in detail and making suggestions. The studio flats also have a gorgeous little garden at the front, with beautiful items they've collected over the years. The owners even left us some watermelon in the fridge to welcome us! :) We only had one small issue - there was no air conditioning remote when we arrived, but we didn't notice until late in the evening when it was too late to call anyone. It was a hot hot night, and you can't really sleep without it. When I spoke to the owner the next day, he advised that there is an extra charge for the A/C. We didn't mind paying this but it was more frustrating that this was never mentioned to us when we arrived, and we were not given the option. Apart from that, everything was great.

Good stay at Amalthia Studios

Posted 9 Jul 2015 on Hotels
The owners are very friendly and give you a map and a good overview of activities in the area. They are also very accommodating in case of late check-in or late check-out. Rooms are basic but very clean and nice, don't need much more. wifi works well

better discribed as "Amartia studios"

What can I say.. TV that does not work.. Cooking equipment that is so dated and does not work.. Air conditioner that you have to pay extra charge to use... If more than 3 people use toilet, septic smells a Kaka aroma which will bring tears to your eyes.. Septic cleanout is in the middle of courtyart for all to enjoy.. terribly over priced.. Plenty of other available rooms in the town with much better facilities with better rates than these people are charging... However I must admit the characters who run this joint are very smooth and please please please.. Get receipts when they tell you they'd rather get paid in cash..

Best Kept Secret

Posted 15 Jul 2011
The Amalthia studios are in an ideal spot close to all the town has to offer but in a quiet position. It is at the bottom of a dead end road so there's no through traffic or moped noise. It also has it's own car park. The owners of the studios are extremely welcoming & helpful. We were pleasantly surprised at the number of times our sheets & towels were changed it seemed to be every other day. I would definitely stay there again & recommend to others.
