Nous avons eu une expérience incroyable dans cet hôtel. Belle atmosphère sereine juste au bord de l'eau. Je reviendrai certainement dans cette oasis à Grand Bassam

As a business owner myself, I usually do not leave a negative review but for this hotel, I have to warn you so you do not waste your time and your hard earned money. My mother came to visit her grandchildren in Ivory Coast and I thought of taking them to Grand Bassam and Assinie. We booked our vacation and read carefully the reviews. We only had disappointments after disappointments. From not having hot water then not having running water in our room, havint to shower with water buckets, no working AC, a staff that is not properly trained and handle your request slow, spoiled drinks, showing a very low quality of the management of the place. I strongly recommend you stay away from this hotel. if you trying to find a place to relax, that not be the place to stay on the week end.. We arrived on a Sunday, and impossible to find the reception to do our check-in. It took 2 hours and a half before we could get in our room. I should have known by then! The manager of the place offer us a local drink and told us that the day after would be quieter… We asked for ice as the local drink came to room temperature, 18 minutes to get some ice cubes… We decided to get in the pool waiting for the room to be cleaned and be able to check in. After the swimming, we finally got the key and got in the room to shower. SURPRISE, no hot water available and no pressure. They told us they had some issues with some pipes… I would have loved to know this at the check-in...

Le Koral Beach provides a very relaxing environment. My aim was to have some rest whilst also keeping on top of work emails. The latter part was a little difficult at times as the wifi is a hit and miss affair - in addition, at no point did I have wifi available in my room. So, if your priority is constant internet access, this hotel will frustrate; as a place to get away from it all, it's perfect! The room was very comfortable, the hotel gardens leading to the beach beautiful. In general, the restaurant was good, if a little slow at times (but that is a fairly common experience in West Africa). I have two slight gripes, excluding the wifi. Firstly, it would be that no bill is presented after each meal - everything is put on the room but you don't know how big the bill will be until the end of the stay. I always like to sign off at the end of each meal so I can keep a running tab in my head. Secondly, the hotel only accepts payment in FCFA and in cash; this was not noted on the ebookers website and I mainly had euros with me. I was able finally to pay in euros but with an additional service charge added. I feel that this information needs to be more transparent so that future guests can prepare for this.

Dear Simon, Thank you for taking the time to write about your visit to the Koral Beach Hotel. Since we inherited the hotel/restaurant 3 years ago, we have been diligently trying to make improvements, hence we listen to all of our clients suggestions. Agreed, as we spoke when you first arrived, the wifi needs serious work, and we are in the process of setting up an entire new system. As for your first point of signing off on each bill, you are absolutely right. We could not agree with you more, and have already implemented this service with our guests. Thank you! Your second point regarding payment though is a little tricky and we will try to explain. To our defense, it is clearly stated on EBOOKERS, as on all of the other sites under the "Hotel Policies" section: "This property accepts cash only for all onsite purchases, including incidentals." And since we are in the Côte d'Ivoire, we accept West African FCFA, which is the local currency. Finally, when you paid with EURO, you were charged the bank rate - along with the fee the hotel would have incurred (actually much less) to change the EURO to FCFA. It's a rather long and complicated discussion, but basically because of the unpredictability of the (local) banks here, this is primarily a cash culture. As prefaced, we are forever trying to improve our hotel, our restaurant, and our services, and we thank you again for your suggestions and understanding. At the end of the day, we hope you enjoyed your stay at the Koral Beach Hôtel. With kind wishes, leKBH.

Dakbedekking in gans het hotel in erg bouwvallige staat. Geen luxe; geen comfort. Geen minibar, noch telefoon of bad/toilet artikelen. Flat screen TV zonder kanalen.
