Liked nothing the bathroom was like a bird watch and freezing cold. There were no facilities at all in the main room not even a kettle. Everything was in an outside Area open to the elements on one side.. we hostel stayed all around Tasmania and never had a place so deplorable.

It was a room with basic bed and outside shower and toilet. first place I have ever stayed in the world that did not have tea or coffee or kettle in the room. Probably the most expensive nights sleep. The out of room facilities were adequate, You need to take everything you need in the way of food and water as there is limited places to eat after 5 pm.

Thank you for your response. I don't understand what you mean by 'the most expensive nights sleep'? Our private cabins with outside showers are $82 p/night and have their own coffee, tea, kettle, stove and fridge. Our other rooms have private undercover en-suite bathrooms. You were advised that we do not have a restaurant on site prior to arrival and we do provide rain water for our guests to drink. Water in all our kitchens is drinking water, and their are signs everywhere stating that. Most restaurants out of town do not open after 5pm, yet we have one within 10kms of our farm that was open from 6am - 9pm. We are a working farm offering guests a unique experience in the bush with an abundance of wild animals. Sorry we did not meet your expectations. Kind regards, Kyra

Avoid it

Posted 23 Oct 2019 on Hotels
I came to this place around 7 PM.No one met me there. The key was pinned to a board with a note. I had trouble locating my room. It was + 10 in Celsius outside and the room was cold. It had a small heater which turned itself off every half an hour and was not enough to heat up the room. The inside temperature stayed at the same level as outside at around + 10 degrees Celsius. The private toilet actually was at the open balcony. As well as shower. So at 10 degrees Celsius you could hardly use any of those. The communal kitchen was horrible and dirty. It was cold and without light. The kettle I tried to boil water in was dirty and had the horrible smell. I couldn't eventually use it. The next morning I left the cold room which was visited at night by wild animals who pooped everywhere and made the toilet unusable. I stopped my payment for this accommodation on my credit card. This property should be delisted. Avoid it.

A great stop over close to Flinders Chase

Posted 26 Apr 2019 on Hotels
Great farm setting, excellent shared kitchen facilities including campfire sitting area. Room was lovely and clean, unique bathroom set up with views over farmland. We stayed in a lodge room, which was pretty noisy in the morning as it is on wooden floors and people were leaving early - but other than that, a terrific place. Recommend a night walk to spot possums, wallabies and roos. Very close to Flinders Chase national park, so a great base for Western K.I.

Glamping!

Posted 4 Apr 2019 on Hotels
The farm stay was almost like glamping. The common kitchen / dining area was camp style. Rooms were very comfortable with an "outside" enclosed bath / toilet area - which meant cold weather in the mornings. A very short drive to remarkable Rocks and Admiral arch

Thank you Darryl for your review. We like the word glamping, it seems very fitting. We are so happy you enjoyed your stay with us and the proximity to the national park.

Really pleased with almost everything. Only request is for something to label food with as we lost our milk to a tour group, despite being in a different fridge to their food. And being in the bottom of the fridge door with our container of chopped salad...

Thank you for your kind review and taking the time to leave us some feedback. We are very sorry a tour group used your milk. It is a shared kitchen and it is hard to keep things separate but we will speak with the group to avoid this happening again. Thank you

We got there by 6pm and found out that there is no actual reception. One pin up board where one will find room key. So there is a mobile number given in a instruction document. It was said to contact a manager if we run into amy trouble. I left some stuff in the room and went to car to get other stuff. Obviously locked the room and found on my return that i am locked out. Room key provided would not work. Called the manager, went to voicemail straight. She did not called back in 15 minutes, so i went back virtual reception area to get some help. Even though it was written on door that "private property do not disturb, this is not a reception", I knocked on the door. Nice lady answered and tried to help me open my door, didn't work. Bytheway manager didn't get back to me yet. Manager sent one of the worker to help me open the door, she could not work it out. By now it was obvious that only master key could work in this situation. So manager came after 45 minutes of my leaving a voicemail. First thing she said was, I have 2 kids unattended at home so need to get out of here quickly. She used lubricant spray still key didn't work. She said most of the rooms around are not lockable from outside, nobudy will touch my stuff. She also mentioned that just because I am from city I was putting more emphasis on door key to work. ZERO customer service. She offered me full refund if I were to leave and find other place to stay. Really!!! Take insurance first if staying here.

We are sorry this is how you experienced your stay. As mentioned at first contact when booking we are a fully working farm (you booked a farm stay), there is no 24 hour reception and the farm house is private. The key had worked every day until you arrived and we got the lock fixed the next day by fully replacing the handle so we have new keys available. You found someone who tried to help but there was obviously something wrong with the lock. We are not lock smith but 3 people tried to assist. Our phone reception at this end of the island is not always perfect so I did not receive your message for a little while but as soon as I spoke to you send staff to help you and as soon as that didn’t work, I came over myself. We are family operated and it was very late, so no way to call anyone to help out in the remote area where we live. 100km away from a lock Smith, away from a builder, from a hardware store. I just mentioned that it was not as easy as in the city to get something replace right at that minute as it was the end of the day. All rooms were fully booked otherwise we could’ve moved you free of charge into another one but I can’t move other people. It was bad luck and out of our control. I offered a full refund as that was all I could do but you did not accept it and said it was fine to stay. As we had no other options, i offered either refund or staying without key, there was nothing else we could have done and i apologise but that was out of my control. I fixed the lock the next day when I purchased a new handle. The other available rooms are dorm rooms and due to council fire regulations we are not allowed to have door handles with locks on them. That was all I mentioned as I ran out of options to explain to you that we are fully booked. I am sorry you didn’t enjoy your stay, I apologise for the lock issue
