Lovely grumpy old pom, no complains about this guy, rules are clear, if you want your room serviced, just ask. Only complain is he should cut the bloody grass in front so the mosquitos don't breed!! Ok, maybe a fridge and tv would be nice! But hey, we weren't there for that. On On

Thank you for your review, to cut the grass we need it to stop raining for longer than a few hours to allow the grass to dry, we most recently achieved that and cut the grass only yesterday just in time for it to start raining again this morning. However it is not grass that attracts mosquitos, it is plants, flowers, shrubbery, standing water (as in a toilet bowl) and electric light and if guests take in to consideration not to leave doors and windows, particular the bathroom window, open whilst switching lights off when vacating a bathroom or room, as we do ourselves, then we experience very few if any mosquitoes.

The photo was deceiving. The place needs a lot of care and maintenance. It could have been better if the entrance area has lights and the pathway was not covered with grass. What i like is the hot shower.

We need to consider all guests and not just a minority, upon completion of building Wayfarers Cloud 9 we had a stone chippings driveway however when going surfing the majority of surfers do not wear footwear and they simply couldn't walk on our driveway, it was always our intention to allow the stone-chippings hardcore base to cover in grass because we believe that the surface of this planet looks better natural than covered in concrete. . It is some 3.5 years since we and all properties granted the government permission to install street lighting to the front of our property, we wait and wait however the government are soon to widen the concrete road by a further metre on each side so the difficulties of doing anything other to the front of our property continues.

Having read the previous review of yesterday we just feel it fair and necessary to review in defence of Wayfarers and Martin's team. The only thing nasty about the place was the two women of that review, they were conversing outside our room window and my Filipina partner, while trying not to laugh, was translating for me, Martin did his utmost to accommodate them but these two women walked in with a seriously bad attitude fuelled on by their habal-habal driver, they hadn't even seen their room and had already decided that they weren't going to stay and there was nothing Martin could have done to change their minds. Wayfarers is good and even better value for money.

It is so unique that it should be removed from the website. This hotel is a dump. We did not get to stay because it's so nasty. We didn't even bother getting our refund.

First of all we are NOT a hotel and for the bargain room rate these two women paid they have the audacity to expect a hotel! We;ve seen it dozens of times before, the body language of guests of this nationality when they walk in, also their tricycle transport driver trying to encourage them not to stay so that he can take them to another establishment that shall pay him a bribe for 'kidnapping' them. These guests arrived to our garden area, we greeted them politely for them to initially stand there looking at us as if they were dummies. They asked to see the room to decode if they are to stay or not, we showed them tp the room, freshly cleaned and with brand new bedding, they questioned if we had other guest to which we explained that we were fully booked that night, they then questioned some nearby overgrown vegetation to which we explained it was on government owned land and outside of our control, all the while their tricycle driver was giving it 'verbal'. They agreed to stay, checked-in accordingly whilst we returned to other duties, some 30 minutes later they came to our office door to say that they were cancelling and questioned regarding a refund. We explained they they cannot expect to check-in for a one night reservation, utilise our facilities, the bed they had laid upon, the electricity they had used, to then expect a refund upon check-out we had another person at our door at that time so we told these guests that they should talk to Expedia. Some people, there was nothing wrong with their room, another of this same nationality that pay a 2.5 star price, and a significantly discounted one at that, and expect a 6 star hotel.

Excellent, clean room, comfortable bed, the universal power outlets I found particularly convenient having lost my adaptor, hot shower, clean water and brand new bedding that still had factory creases visible, I'll definitely be back.

Unbelievable value for money, the nasty homestays charge more for dormtory style rooms, shared bathrooms, cold showers etc., at Wayfarers private room, own bathroom, hot shower, comfortable bed and wifi, love it

The handle of my room's door lock came off in my hand during the evening, within five minutes Martin arrived with tool kit in hand to allow me in to the room, Martin then politely insisted that I transfer to another room because my room was by then insecure, I found it reassuring that guest security is of paramount concern.
