Nice house with character!

Posted 12 Sep 2017 on Hotels
We stayed in two cottage, had no idea there were no TV's in any of the rooms. We were able to sit out in the evening with our family in the next cottage. The restaurant on site is really good and reasonably priced. Only complaint is that the toilet seat in both cabins were not on tight and moved around too much and was told they would be fixed that day as we still had another night...did not happen! Janine gave us a tour of the main house, very nice! Everyone was very friendly. Breakfast was amazing, included in the price! Not much around there to do.

Quiet and relaxing

Posted 25 Jul 2017 on Hotels
Simple, quiet and clean. We stayed in a cabin which was outside of the main house. It was very cozy and clean and seemed to have been recently built or renovated. Great food for breakfast and at the on site bistro. We were visiting with family in another town nearby so we didn't do too much exploring here. We did visit the chutes which was a great experience and I would suggest to others passing through.

Slept in bed where Sir John A McDonald had slept!

Historic surroundings with a gracious hostess- loved it! We learned we slept in the bed where the first Prime Minister of Canada had slept.

This hotel is superb. Nice garden to relax, owner made us feel at home! We got an upgrade to a stunning room. Heritage of the owner is visible in all rooms, every detail is classic and very nice. We recommend this all travelers and book the' toller room ', its worth it!
