Hotel is desperately in need of remodel

First time we’ve stayed at a Holiday Inn Express. All was fine with one exception: Upon entering our assigned room we observed a couple of things that led us to believe that the room had not been thoroughly cleaned. The front desk assigned us to another room, and all was well.
