Quiet. Good location . Great views. However very steep flights of stairs to room. No lift. Staff not very friendly on arrival or during stay but happier at Breakfast which was ok. Clean hotel. Would not stay again due to the hike to the bedroom!

We use this Hotel quite a lot for work, rooms are nice & staff are always really helpful if required. Perfectly situated for our short commute "cracking walk along the front first thing in the morning, if the weather allows!!". Myself & my colleagues will definitely be using the Hotel again when we are back down in a few weeks.

Room smelt very strongly of chemicals, probably a mix of paint and bleach. We also discovered bed bugs in the bed so decided at midnight to vacate the hotel and find somewhere else to stay, at much greater expense.

Not good value

In general the hotel is OK and the rooms very clean but we have stayed in much better for much less. The internet was unreliable and slow as well as subject to persistent crashing. The rooms have been recently updated but the quality of the fittings and the actual finish is very poor and below acceptable standards. The wash basin was not fixed properly and the pedestal just stood loosely on the floor without any kind of fixing. Waiting 15 minutes to be served at the bar in the evening is not acceptable. I tried to find someone without success and the only member of staff around was conducting a quiz for the coach party. Breakfast was good but the staff require some basic training in serving and manners. We left a day early very disappointed. The breakfast staff were too eager to get away on time or do other things rather than concentrate on the guests. At breakfast times I had to ask for clean glasses for the juice, saucers for the coffee cups, a bowl for the cereal, milk and yoghurt. All things that should have been laid out on the tables in the self serve buffet area. I did tell the receptionist all this when we checked out and she did seem interested. The owners/managers really need to take a good look around and look at things from the customers viewpoint rather than what suits them.

Thank you for your review. Please remember this is your opinion. We have since had people in the same room who were very happy and told us so and being value for money as they booked direct and saved, not like yourself. When you criticize me personally is not acceptable in the present climate probably liable. I saw you approach the bar where you placed an empty glass and proceeded to walk away. If you stood at the bar I would have took a break from giving out quiz answers. I do apologise for a faulty internet component which has now been replaced. Paraphs a 4 star Hotel would better suit your needs. Good luck finding a sea view room for a similar price.. Maybe if you mentioned any issues during your stay we could have rectified them. I suppose the storm we had on the day of your departure had no bearing on your decision to leave. My family have been here for 70 years and we always do our best.
