Lovely staff that made you feel at home and welcome. Let us drop off bags early before check in so that we could enjoy afternoon. Breakfast was lovely. Thank-you

From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel welcome and I love the green ethos adopted by the Telstar.
Their Guest Information book makes it clear that we all have a role to play. It explains: “As the old man walked down to the beach at dawn he noticed a young man ahead of him picking up starfish and flinging them back into the sea. Finally catching up with the youth he asked him why he was doing this as the beach went on for miles and there were millions of starfish. How can your effort make any difference? The young man replied “it makes a difference to this one”…looking down at the starfish in his hand.
Having returned to the hotel, I chose one of the local ales sold at the Telstar in 500ml chilled bottles, for only £3.80. My personal choice was for Avocet - most enjoyable!
By way of constructive criticism, I think that all breakfast items should be available for the duration of breakfast service eg preserves (marmalade) and filter coffee. In fairness, I suspect that if I’d asked, the items would have been immediately available but I would be happier to see them offered to all guests, regardless of when they arrive for breakfast.
I wouldn’t hesitate to book The Telstar again but next time, I would request a room on a lower floor as I’m just not fit enough to cope with the climb to the top!

Really enjoyed our stay here, and would thoroughly recommend. So easy to walk into the centre, free parking at the rear, quality cooked breakfast with locally sourced sausages, bacon & eggs. And the staff were excellent.
