Bad experience

When I got to Whispering Pines, they were full and had relocated me to one of their other hotels. The other hotel, Travelers Inn was further away, in a less desirable part of town, and the owner refused to give me a refund.

Dear Rebecca,We apologize about any inconvenience. However, l would like to point out and discuss the other side of the story.You booked a smoking room and wanted a non smoking room. We had the availability at our other location in town, which we moved your reservation complimentary, and which your room was upgraded as well.You also mentioned your family was in Chesapeake, VA and you booked too far away, and wanted to cancel the same day without being charged, however the hotel industry standard cancellation policy is 24 hrs, and we apologize about any inconvenience and you not being able to cancel the reservation without a penalty charge, which is stated in your reservation confirmation email.Lastly, during check in, you were very rude and inappropriate to our front desk manager, who went above and beyond during the check in process to assist you.Overall, it seems that the property nor the staff were any issues. It seems you wanted a refund for a same day cancellation, in this case we could not do, and we apologize about this.For future reference, should you have any issues, please contact a staff member instead of writing a misleading review.We hope this clarifies any confusion you had. Our properties in town always go above and beyond to provide all guests with the best southern hospitality!We invite you back for a 5 star experience here in Elizabeth City!

Our property is located on the main road in town, and is clean and safe. I apologize you thought it was different. For future reference, please let a staff member know so they can better assist you!

What is ‘unique’ about this site is that it is closed for renovations! Good job Expedia with this reservation!

Dear Robert, I apologize about the inconvenience but there seems to be some type of confusion. Our property is undergoing renovations but is NOT closed. Also, if for some reason we can not accomodate a guest, we have another sister property we will move the reservation to honor the specific room type.
