Room for improvement
Posted 15 Dec 2019 on HotelsThe hotel was hard to find because the building had literally changed color and material since the photo on the various booking services was taken. The entrance was confusing with a very welcoming glass door towards the reception, that was locked, but an unlocked much less visible door nearby. The reception door didn't even have an arrow pointing towards the "actual" entrance, but a sign stating what phone number you should call if it was locked, suggesting even more it is the main entrance.
My first room was uninhabitable due to practically being in the reception, where you could hear the phone ringing, front door opening and closing, people talking and the Pepsi cooler humming (who even drinks Pepsi??). The second room had an extremely noisy ventilation system that I mistook for construction works outside the window. In both rooms the light from the hallway shined through the gap under the door (ehm, fire regulations?).
Friendly and helpful staff is increasing the overall score.

When we arrived they said us that our reservation was canceled.After one hour discussion they called to the boss and found a room.

Hostal not Hotel - toilets make the difference
Posted 21 Jun 2019 on HotelsIt was not clear on booking that you would not have your own toilet or shower/bath. This was a major issue impeding comfort.

I cancelled my stay with hotel Benno and they still charged me.
I have spent the last 6 days trying to get my money back, the staff keep telling me they will sort it but don't and then I am left dealing with a different person each day.
