The lovely, quiet location of Brandon Village
Posted 5 Feb 2024 on HotelsThe Hen House cottage was a great place to stay for our trip in the Durham area.
The village of Brandon is a beautiful location for going for walks in the countryside and with a great pub/ restaurant called the Bay Horse Inn on 50m away it’s a perfect place to stay.
The village is very close to the historic house, chapels and gardens of Ushaw and Brancepeth Castle, which are both excellent places to visit!!
Would happily stay here again when visiting the area as it’s a perfect little hideaway!!

What a gem! We loved our stay in The Hen House, it was beautifully designed and very well equipped. The location was ideal for us, only short drive into Durham, and a very short walking distance to The Pub and Kitchen where we ate one night. We were able to park directly in front, and we enjoyed sitting on the bench outside the house to enjoy the sunshine. Brilliant!

A very lovely place to stay while in Durham. Plenty of amenities. Good communication. Great location the pub. Just a few houses up. Had quite amazing food as well. If you're in town for a while, make sure you check out this great opportunity.

Well equiped cottage close to Durham
Posted 2 Oct 2022 on HotelsOvernight stay and much cheaper than in Durham itself. Large unit with a washer/dryer which was extremely useful on a long trip. Good view from bedroom window, nice pub across the road. Friendly host. Would also have been good for a longer stay. Only suggestion would be a clearly visible name plate as it was hard to tell which house was which.
