Great location. Quiet hotel, well priced. Staff were not welcoming or helpful. Complimentary breakfast did not exist.

Located close to the historic downtown area of Springfield, nothing bad to say about this place.

The toilet leaked onto the bathroom floor every time you sat on it. When the promised “Hot Breakfast/Free Breakfast” consisted of stale cereal, days old bacon, and old danish I knew that this place was a joke. Also the front desk employee said something about a “city tax” that is not mentioned anywhere and could not give me a exact amount of what it would be. DON’T GO HERE.

There were quite a few hiccups- including the room we booked not being available and us having to switch rooms. Breakfast was pretty sparse. But honestly, the friendliness of the staff made up for it. They were really nice and super helpful, despite being short staffed and under stocked.

Very close to the Illinois Capitol Building and walkable to the Lincoln Museum and the Lincoln home which were very enjoyable to visit. Very quiet during our visit.

I am rarely one to believe the reviews, especially negative ones. But I can confidently say that the negative reviews were spot on. Check in: no one at the desk for 10 minutes. No bell to ring for service, so I had to wait . Employee came and told me that the suite we booked was unavailable, and they would upgrade me for free to the presidential suite . Sounded good. Little did I know! They said they would come up with linens shortly for the pullout . I have three kids who were exhausted from travel and ready for bed. 30 minutes goes by, no linens. Hubby goes down to front Desk and they say the GM is downstairs grabbing them and will be right up. Another 30 minutes goes by , and no sheets. I go down and the employee tells me that the GM is downstairs getting them. I inform him we were told that 30 minutes ago. Meanwhile, another guest is waiting for sheets (no sheets on any of his beds) and he had no towels, soap or shampoo. I get towels but am still told the linens are coming. . I go upstairs and 30 minutes later (1.5 hours later in total), we finally get sheets. The room itself was large, but extremely unclean. The next morning we go downstairs for the complimentary breakfast, and are told by disgruntled housekeeping staff that there is no breakfast because the vendor didn’t show up. We go back up to shower. I go to find a hair dryer and there is none. I go back down to front desk, wait for 10 minutes for a worker to appear. I tell her we have no hair dryer. She said

Pros - location
Cons - uncomfortable bed
Dirty halls
Trash in elevator
No linens for pull out bed
Took forever to get said linens
NO BREAKFAST EVEN THOUGH ITS ADVERTISED ON THE WEBSITE
outdated rooms
Vending signs that lead to nowhere
Door key card that doesn’t work multiple times so you have to keep going back to the lobby

They were severely understaffed and we had to wait nearly three hours to get our room. Breakfast service was unavailable because of the staff shortage. No one answered the phone or was visible at the front desk during our stay. The lack of service was ridiculous. I have stayed at this hotel for years and have never experienced this. It was extremely disappointing.

Lobby smelled, lounge was closed, staff frequently smoking at lobby entrance, 1st room had an unmade bed and trashed bathroom, 3 rd floor hall had losts of trash and later piles of dirty linens on the floor for several hours
