My first trip to Penang and after reading past reviews decided to go with JEN Penang. The stay was pleasant and the staff were very courteous plus super helpful. Location wise it is within walking distance to many attractions nearby and the famous Top of Penang. Buffet breakfast has a very good spread of food choices and tasty. I would say there are 2 areas which probably need some step up. Firstly, the pool closes at 7pm and we didn’t get the chance to use it as our day trip ends about 6.45pm. The other was the room card key. Only one key plus a dummy for inserting inside the room. Maybe I should ask if we could have extra key card coz the timing needs to be right to get back to the room with just one card. Overall, highly recommended for the value and accessibility to the area.

hotel is located strategically within georgetown with areas of interests, be it food or architecture within walkable distance. staffs were courteous and helpful. however facilities within rooms are another matter. 1. it would seem batteries of in-room safes are not checked for charge as ours could not be opened after locking. wall towards window where air-conditioning was blowing has not been cleaned for a long while and dust can be clearly seen collecting there. 2. to those who do not utilise bathtub, it is suggested that you request for room with standing bath instead. seems some rooms are left with bath tub after renovation for whatever reason.
