Compact hotel. Has been updated nicely but elevator would make it significantly more appealing.

HÔTEL DU PORT RHU

Posted 7 Jun 2018 on Hotels
Check in was straight forward. The person on reception spoke English, which helped, and showed us to our room. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and well equipped, all good. Breakfast was great with a large variety of good food buffet style. There is a large free public car park across the road which seemed safe. It is a ten minute walk into Douarnenez. All in all if you are looking for a small hotel in Douarnenez its great. Picture 2 is the view from our room.

Very friendly staff and beautiful hotel. Lovely room and glorious breakfast with views over the port. Perfect for public transport, next to the bus stop, direct from the train station in Quimper (direct TGV from Paris)

Hotel withour charm

Posted 26 Jul 2017
Pros: Staff. The breakfast room is very nice (we could observe many nice birds inthe garden...)
Cons: Bigger bathrooms. Some modern decoration...
Location: Sight seeing the wonderful coasts of brittany
The hotel is located a little outside the city. The room has been clean and had the facilities we expected. However the bathroom and shower are very, very small (especially the toilet...), the room had the charm of the late 80ties and smelled not to well on entereing. There is no elevator (which was not an issue for us), but an old-fashioned wooden, narrow staircase. The breakfast was ok, but not overhelming... Free parking was available accross the street. The staff has been nice and helpful.

Excellent small hotel

Excellent stay for 7 nights. Very friendly owner. Nothing was too much trouble. Great room which was kept spotlessly clean every day. Clean linen every 3 days! Only a 20 minute walk either way to old town or pleasure port. Free parking opposite and dozens of boules pitches too. Would happily return and recommend.

Great hotel

Excellent hotel, staff could not do enough to make our stay a pleasure. Plenty of parking either at kerbside or across the road in public car park. Just a stroll down the hill and across the river to the creperies and bars in the lovely old harbour.

Simple but comfortable and affordable hotel

Posted 23 Jun 2014 on Hotels
Good location across the river from the town. Fairly easy to walk across the pedestrian bridge or the vehicle bridge into the center of town. Very affable and helpful desk clerk. Good crepes restaurant two doors down. Easy free parking in public lot directly across the street from the hotel. No fancy decor, but clean and comfortable room. We did not have a view from our room, but there may have been river views from the dining room or other rooms.

The hotel rooms are recently renovated and surprisingly good for a two start hotel. We stopped for a night and everything was quite nice. Would recommend definitely.
