The view of the pan from all of the rooms is really restful and very African.

The staff were lovely - friendly & accommodating, especially the manager Paul. The rooms were clean, the beds comfy, the water hot. The grounds pretty. The food good. The views overlooking the bush & watering hole with visiting wildlife was lovely. Overall, it was an enjoyable stay at Ganda!

Staff were surprised we were there and had no info on what kind of package we booked. Excellent, great, awesome view of waterhole and animals. Hundreds of Elephants!😄 We ate dinner 3 times and was great and they went out of their way to accommodate my vegetarian gf. Andrew the Manager was great. He shared stories and gave us history of the region. Rooms were old old and tired. Everything needs updated. Chairs need replaced. No toilet seat upstairs and nonworking shower.

Beautiful spot. Once beautiful buildings.

Urgent attention to repairs and maintenance is needed. It looks as though not a "penny" has been spent for many years. No hot water in one of the 2 chalets we hired. Very little in the other until none at all. Main switch not on so we had to fumble around in the dark looking for it. We were not expected - until the DID find the booking. Apologies were half-hearted. Staff did not seem to WANT to offer us dinner as it would have meant they would have had to stay. Luckily Main Camp Hwange NP was close enough. Price for breakfast offered was exhorbitant - so went to Main Camp again.

Double edged sword

Posted 8 Apr 2018
The venue is, unfortunately, looking a little tired and dated. Whilst our room was clean, showers were out of order and the grass roof leaked. The WiFi was not on (someone told us that they hadn’t paid the bill!) and the electricity was off for a good few hours. HOWEVER This was the most spectacular location to see the wildlife. Driving up to the lodge we saw zebra and on our arrival a family of 4 elephants were grazing right outside our chalet. Although we went on a drive I feel that we could have stayed out at the lodge and seen just as much. We woke up to baboons and other animals in the clearing and the wildlife just kept going. My daughter says I must mention there are frogs in the pool too. So I wouldn’t let her go in. But.... We weren’t there for the pool. We were there for the sights and Ganda lodge delivered this in abundance. Would we stay again? We aren’t sure. Probably!

If you want a relaxing place near wildlife this is the place for you. Staff also did their best to make your staff comfortable. Place can use a facelift though. You can tell the place was incredible at one point in the past. To start with the road isn't easy to travel on for a compact car. Pool obviously hasn't worked for a while and a major disappointment since it was a huge selling point for us to stay there based on the description of the amenities Wifi also wasn't working (was informed for a while) which also was disappinting Again if you want to sit out on your porch and just watch the wildlife meander through their normal daily routine, this is the place for you but the value pretty much stops there

Great wildlife lodge for half the price of most

If you are looking for a small quiet place with great game viewing at half the price of most, give Ganda a try. The open air lobby looks onto a waterhole that quite close. You will be housed in little lodges and you have a choice of ground level or upper level accommodation. Each faces the waterhole. The upper level ones have a covered porch view. I was in a lower level one. There is acceptable cell phone coverage and free WiFi. Ganda is far from new but is well kept and comfortable with a large bedroom and bathroom. Everything was very clean. It is located a few kilometers from Hwange park entrance. I came by bus from Victoria Falls which stops at the Hwange Safari Lodge. If you contact Ganda in advance they will arrange transportation to their lodge. It is only a short drive. Ganda’s waterhole when I visited (mid September) had great wildlife viewing and I saw Kudu, Zebra, Elephant, baboon, warthog, Impala and more. There was always something to watch wildlife mix seemed to change every 15 minutes. Ganda has a wonderful guide that took me on game drives on their own property and into the National Park. He knew where the lions were! There was a huge gathering of elephants in the park at dusk that was phenomenal. In the evenings, the lodge has a fire outside near the pool area and has their waterhole floodlit all night. A really joyful bartender will attend.
