the beach by the resort was not clean at all and there were a lot of plastic cups and bottles. Also, a lot of dead grass

The hotel is well maintained and the staff are friendly and helpful. Only thing I didn’t like is the beach. It was dirty. It may not be the responsibility of the hotel to clean the beach. However if they can arrange one person to keep the nearby beach clean, the quality of staying will be greatly improved. I noticed the hotel in the next door is doing the extra cleaning and the beach environment is much better.

The facilities are old ( well past their days of glory) and in need of major renovation. The room is nice and big but bathroom shower in need of upgrading ( eg needed higher water pressure and shower fixture falling apart). Ceiling in Layang Layang full of water and stains. Also, food was unremarkable bordering bad (eg. rotten tomato served in the breakfast buffet) and certainly not of the quality and variety expected of a five star hotel. Staff are nice and friendly but it seems in need of better training and more direct supervision. Seems more of an issue related to proper management of staff as opposed to a problem with staff. Waitress in breakfast for example wearing food stained uniform. Staff at the security gate not very polite (though there were some good exceptions) . Fitness facilities nice and modern. Main Pool area also very nice though some of the decor like the pink orchid needs to be removed or replaced long ago.

One of the most magical resorts I have stayed at. I felt I instantly at peace there. Great breakfast and were very accommodating to my dietary needs. The room was spacious, bright & clean. The finishing touch on a great experience was the fact they provided 2 x 1.5 litre bottles of water every day and got me more so promptly every time I requested it. Only thing I would have liked is milk in the mini bar for my coffee.

Overall disappointing. This property is not of the standard expected of the Intercontinental brand. The room design was beautiful but there is constant construction noise. The property is in poor condition and far from 5 star and having undergone a complete “refresh”. The view from the rooms to the beach is beautiful but when you look down the giant water feature centre piece of the gardens in the photos which the rooms overlook is surrounded by a horrendously toxic looking green pool. The whole place feels a bit like they are just barely spinning the wheels and looking to offload it to be honest. Had a facial and massage at the spa which were both nice. Breakfast buffet restaurant is probably the only part of the hotel that is actually 5 star and International standard, except the poor staff who were excellent had to try and work around positioning tables so the leaking roof wasn’t dripping on guests heads. The whole place had a bit of a faulty towers hotel feel about it and definitely not Intercontinental brand standard.

Great property for mature adults. Quiet and peaceful. Check in was poor. Arrived late and room not ready. They put us up in another room at midnight and we moved in the morning. Quite spoiled first day. Very clean and large room. Big pool you can lap. Wouldn’t stay again as too quiet for me.

A bit dated but staff were excellent ,the pool was a bit hot compared to other pools we went in , hard to cool off on a 40 degree day
