1-star rating because of theft from our luggage. Before we left for the day, we tried to use the in-room safe, but were unable to get it to work. We should have gone to the front desk and had them fix the safe. We left 4 envelopes with money in my husband’s backpack and secured all the latches. We left the hotel at 8 am and returned at noon. Upon our return my husband noticed that the latches on the backpack were open. He looked inside and saw envelopes, but we should have counted the envelopes to insure all were there. We checked out the next morning and went with a private guide in his private car and were out of Cusco for two days. During that entire time, the backpack was either with us or locked in the trunk of his car. Upon returning to Cusco to a different hotel and repacking, we noticed 2 of our envelopes were missing for a total of $700 USD. The 2 envelopes which were not touched had Chilean pesos. Our Cusco guide went with us back to Colonial Mansion to help us with this problem. The room cleaner had been employed there for many years with no problem. They said they could look at security video to see who was in the area during that 4-hour window. We asked them to have the manager call our guide and they took his number and said he would call us that day. They never did. The hotel is clean, well maintained, and has comfortable beds, but if you choose to book here, make sure to take all precautions for your valuables. Having $700 stolen leaves sour taste.

Buenas tardes Sherri. Nos esforzamos por ofrecer una experiencia excepcional a los huéspedes, y es evidente que en este caso no fue así. Respecto a su comentario, el cual le agradecemos, ya que nos permite aclarar, ya que no se presento al hotel en los días y horas acordadas con su guía.Dentro de la caja fuerte se encuentra el manual de como usarla, como es usual en todos los hoteles de esta categoría. En todo caso, como usted mismo indica, debieron llamar a la recepción del hotel para solucionar el problema.Al encontrar su mochila con los pestillos abiertos debió contar el dinero para asegurarse de que estaba completo y también manifestarle esto a la recepción del hotel. Lo cual tampoco hizo.Usted indica que cuando abrió la mochila vio sobres, pero cuando volvió a empacar en un hotel diferente, se dio cuenta que faltaban sobres, lo que no se percató cuando lo reviso en nuestro hotel. Se alojaron 2 días en otro hotel e indican que no sacaron la mochila del carro, pero si la dejaron ahí, tendría que pensar que el chofer tenia acceso a la cajuela y a su mochila. Después indica que regreso a Cusco y empaco, es decir si uso la mochila.Desde el primer momento que usted se acercó con el guía indicando sobre este penoso asunto, nosotros hicimos todas las averiguaciones pertinentes y descartamos totalmente que el robo haya ocurrido en nuestro establecimiento. Se le cito a una reunión a las 5 pm y no se presentó. Después nos pusimos nuevamente en contacto con su guía para reagendar la reunión a las 11 am y tampoco se presentaron, ya que esto teníamos que solucionarlo porque estaba en juego el prestigio del hotel y estamos dispuesto a ir a una comisaria para hacer la denuncia respectiva.Usted indico a la recepción que tenía un sobre para cada tour y el monto aproximado era de 120 a 150 dólares y ahora indica que es por 700 dólares.Valoramos mucho el tiempo y la experiencia de nuestros clientes y tenga por seguro que el Hotel cuenta con todos los protocolos de seguridad y por eso nunca hemos tenido un problema como este.

The hotel and the room are clean. Would be nice if the hotel offers drinking water for the room and tea.
