Great stay at Casa Ordonez!

Posted 10 Mar 2020 on Hotels
We spent two nights in Cuenca to visit one of our workers and while there stayed in the Casa Ordonez. We stayed there because the reviews were so good. We were impressed by the friendliness of the owner and his staff. They were quick to meet all our needs, put us in a better room the second night, arranged tours for us and we just appreciated them so much. Breakfast was very good and different every day!

Grand hotel in the heart of old town

Posted 10 Mar 2020 on Hotels
This is a wonderful hotel with great service in the heart of old town but off the main street, thus avoiding the street noise. The owner, Alberto, is a wonderful man who had lived in the USA and returned to this family property to turn it into a hotel. The rooms are historic just as the building but very comfortable. The location is quite walkable to many of the historic sites, museums, and restaurants. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

Staying at Casa Ordoñez was wonderful. The staff was very nice, especially the owner. He gave lots of useful information about what to do in Cuenca. The breakfasts were delicious. I definitely recommend Casa Ordoñez.

Perfect hotel in all areas

Posted 13 Jul 2019 on Hotels
100% recommend staying here! We were greeted by the warm and friendly Alberto, who explained that this hotel was a family home at one point- very beautiful and well maintained with pride. It has so much character. During our 5 day stay, Alberto and all staff members were ultra helpful and charming. Alberto helped us arrange transportation to Vilcabamba and recommended things to do in Cuenca. I never expect people in other countries to speak English to us, but Alberto has perfect English, which is a nice bonus! Location is perfect- about a 5 minute walk to Parque Calderon and the bustling city center. There are lots of shops and restaurants nearby so you can take your pick with any type of cuisine. Our room had a private bathroom and was spacious. Breakfast each morning was prepared fresh with varying items from day to day. One morning is French toast and fruit, the next is avocado toast and eggs. We were always pleasantly surprised!! I cannot complain about one thing. If you are still debating which hotel for your Cuenca stay, you should choose this one.

A nice and friendly hotel. Excellent location. Nice breakfast. Big and spacious room, just the shower was a little bit crowded.

We were greeted by the owner Alberto right away and him and Edwin at desk were amazing. They were helpful with questions about activities, locations, and taxis. We would definitely go back.
