The Crewe Arms is in a secluded location, very quiet rooms at the rear and not overlooked. Car parking is sufficient but a bit unkempt.

Very friendly welcoming staff. Excellent first impression. Value for money was excellent and with breakfast included it was really good. Breakfast was also excellent and certainly didn’t scrimp on the portion. Overall I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a warm and friendly place to stay

The welcome was extremely unfriendly.
The check in was in the public bar and we were told that we had only booked 2 single rooms for 2 guests.
We stated, quite correctly, that we had booked 2 doubles for 3 guests but were stonewalled with a negative response that made my companions very uncomfortable, as this was attracting the attention of all the clientele
Eventually, the landlady appeared and told us that she could not book us in unless we agreed to paying an extra £30. As my companions were getting embarrassed, I agreed to this.
We were shown to our rooms which both had a double and a single bed!
We came back down for dinner and were asked to move from the quiet table, that we had chosen because we wanted our conversations to be private. We had to refuse twice before our choice was permitted. Our food arrived more than an hour later and to say it was poor would be an understatement. Some parts of it were inedible!
The beds were very uncomfortable, with inadequate bedding for the season and the cheapest sprung mattresses to lie on.
Breakfast was reasonably good and served quickly

Your booking was for 2 single people in 2 rooms which I confirmed with you on my tablet. You asked if I minded if you complained and asked for a refund from Expedia, which I said that’s fine. You were never asked to leave your chosen table, you were asked if you wanted more light and you said no, you liked the ambience. You had a check back during your meal and you never complained. As you can see from other reviews we have a good reputation and can’t understand why your so negative when the mistake was originally yours

Crewe arms hotel
Posted 25 Jan 2024 on HotelsReally lovely place set well back from the road with lots of parking. Owners and staff are all very friendly and helpful. Accommodation is clean and spacious. The food is absolutely excellent and a very varied menu would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.
