Cozy experience

Posted 6 Dec 2023 on Hotels
Really enjoyed this unique yurt experience. The beds were very comfy and the bedding kept us nice and warm on a cold night. Property was under some construction for improvements when we were there and it was raining so we didnt get to explore the property or hang out outside much.

Okay - the tent was nice, but the bathrooms/showers were not very clean and the parking space for our tent was so rutted, narrow and steep that we couldn't walk by on both sides and I couldn't shut the hatch because it was so high. I wouldn't stay here again.

The tents were nicely setup and spaced around the property, although the photos online make them seem bigger than they are. Still enough room to move around and get in and out of bed easy enough. The floor of the tent wasn’t swept out before we checked in and the toilet/shower block could use more regular cleaning. It seemed there was some construction going on on the property which wasn’t great for the experience, we were told we’d be compensated for this inconvenience which was good. Super easy check-in online and easy to find from the highway and directions given through text. All in all a nice experience for my first time glamping.

Peaceful, clean. Yes there are train whistles, consider it part of the ambiance. Accessed the property just fine in a Lexus. Super cozy beds. Plenty of bedding to stay warm on a drizzly low 50s night.

I want to like this Wander Camp location very much, but there were so many caveats like how bumpy and crazy it was to get up to the camp, which was essentially on a cliff bordering Glacier National Park’s West Entrance and the small town of Coram. Firstly, get yourself a Jeep or at the very least a decently tall SUV to get up here. Parking was limited, especially if most of the tents were occupied, which was the case during my one night here, so be VERY careful when you pull in and/or back out. Secondly, the campground itself, much like many recent reviews have stated, is under heavy construction, though minimal noises were heard and only before sundown. Thirdly, I’m so surprised no one else has mentioned this, but there is literally a train track somewhere below the cliff where this camp is situated and holy cow, the train’s horns blaring in the middle of the night (at least three times) definitely took some years off my life. I’ve gone camping before, but it is relatively peaceful if not completely silent save for the natural hums and chirps of Mother Nature’s fauna. Lastly, the tent itself was on VERY bumpy ground, prepare to sprain ankles unless you’re wearing some ankle braces or high, protective hiking boots. For all the construction that is going on here, I’m surprised the owner of this site didn’t think to level the ground better before pitching tents up all over this plateau cliff. The one huge plus is the bed and blankets are actually very warm and insulating.

The spot for our tent was not level and smooth, there was either a boulder or a tree stump near the foot of the bed. Made navigation in the dark difficult. There were 2 lanterns that didn’t have batteries. The bed was comfortable at first but sloped toward the middle. We paid for 2 nights but it was so uncomfortable that my husband insisted we give up the 2nd night. The place is new and it seems like they rushed to open it, there was construction all around and big machinery that made it seem like we were in a town.

Better off staying at a KOA, only a couple of the showers work barthrooms could have been cleaner the whole glamping part for the tents and bedding was great otherwise, choose this place for my sisters first time camping… hope you have four wheel drive cause I don’t think the road back to camp has been grated in awhile
