Hotel Viola

At terminus of open top tourist bus 40 and 100 from the train station (3 Lei single) you can pay on bus so easily accessible. It's far North of Mamaia so Holiday Village, Luna Park and Cable Car are much more than a walk away but Shut Up beach is opposite and the lovely lake is behind. I thought restaurant was overpriced and we eat out but lovely old world rural environment to relax in.

Never stay at this hotel!!!

Posted 7 Sep 2017 on Hotels
Never stay at this hotel!!! I knew about them, staying at this hotel 5 years ago and having also a very bad experience, but it was the only hotel with free rooms in this period(probably because people already know that it's a bad hotel). Check-in at 6 o'clock PM, I was there at 8:30 PM and still the room wasn't ready, so check-in at 9:00 or 9:30 PM. Room still wasn't cleaned good, (also some persons from another room came very disappointed with a a photo with the dirty toilet, after their room was cleaned), but I was too tired to have a conversation with them. Anyway nothing will happen. Very rude personnel. I sleep from 5 to 9 am. Breakfast very bad and in general I heard food is very bad here. Left this hotel 2nd day.

Could hardly be worse

Quite alright if you're a slob, looking for the absolute cheapest place and not caring about cleanliness too much. I would not recommend.

Room is comfortable, bathroom should be cleaned much better, food was ok on a nice terrace. If you have windows facing the hotel's terrace, you will be forced to listen to the music played on the terrace in the evenings.

Wouldn't come back

Posted 10 Aug 2017 on Hotels
The check-in is very late (after 5 pm). The staff is not as friendly as one would expect. They seemed disturbed when we approached them to check-in. The parking space is large. The room was clean, but the bathroom not so much. It stank when we opened the door. The reason was that the drain didn't absorb all the water in the shower. The breakfast is not at this hotel, but at the next door hotel (Caraiman) and it lacks diversity.

Not worth the price....

Posted 10 Jul 2017 on Hotels
The condition of the hotel was not worth the price we paid for.... There was some broken things in our room, not a lot of hot water late at night, the wifi was super slow, nobody at the reception at night and the shower was not super clean... but if you are looking a hotel within 5-10 min of walk, it is the place.

Value choice in Mamaia

Posted 8 Jul 2017 on Hotels
This place is rather chaotic for Westerns. It consist of several buildings and it is located on the lakeside of Mamaia strip. You can reach beach within 5 minutes, but you have to cross busy road. Swimming pool pool is very small, it look bigger on the pictures. Complex is served by red tourist bus connecting Constanta station and Mamaia. This is the last stop. Staff was helpful. Food, both breakfast and on site restaurant was good. Room also felt slightly smaller than picture and the air conditioning barely made the difference, however it was comfortable as there's good size balcony and fridge in the room. The main advantage is that complex got large grounds, if you wish to wonder around. As Mamaia is rather expensive this may be value choise.
