Wonderful little cabin. Enjoyed our stay. The pool was nice to have to cool off after a day at the beach.

Great Place, But Lacking some Needed Amenities

Posted 26 Dec 2019 on Hotels
Pros: Pool, limited wildlife, owners dog, clean, nice grounds, coffee maker, decent wifi, hammock, outdoor rocker, screened windows, and A/C. Cons: Some appliances severely worn (doesn't match listing photos), no TV, no bedroom door, no closet, or place to hang clothes (1 hook, 1 hanger), no interior table or desk to sit in A/C comfort (must sit outside on porch in heat and humidity for use of a table), no microwave, considerable mosquitos at dusk (bring repellant, or buy mosquito coils from local grocer), very steep/high steps to access, pay for breakfast. A bit too rustic for some. Don't get me wrong, this is a great place for short stays if wanting charmingly rustic/Costa Rican, or a pool.  Longer stays may miss having some amenities. Owners are outstanding!

Hello Victoria ! I don't really know what to answer to your review, so just leave it as it is. I guess you are coming to Costa rica to live Costa rican style ? We have clients coming back every year and stay for a month and they love it here. All the houses have fully equipped kitchen and that's the reason why we don't include the breakfast, its just an extra service to anyone who wants. Saludos

Cool woodworked Bungalows

Posted 17 Dec 2018 on Hotels
The Bungalows have an incredible amount of space. We especially liked the large open porch with hammocks. The hosts were very kind and helpful in ensuring we were taken care of.

Comfortable cabins a kilometre from the beach.

Posted 2 Apr 2018
Pros: Porch, hammock, cleanliness, beautiful setting, security
Cons: Need a screen on the main entrance door.
Location: Montezuma beach, waterfalls.
Very nice property with good security. A/C in bedrooms and modern kitchenette and bathrooms with all mod con. Porch is excellent - great to sit out on with no bugs. Property is quiet with occasional traffic noise. Beds comfortable. Cabins are widely spaced with beautiful gardens surrounding. Too far to walk to the beach (about 1 km of very steep road) but that gets you away from the noise of the town. It's a bit cooler up top too. Didn't use a/c, even for sleeping (mid-March). Owner (Ruben) is very friendly and accommodating. Lives on the property and cooks a good breakfast ($8 extra). Would come back here any time.

The best place to stay to enjoy the area

Posted 17 Mar 2018
We spent 5 lovely nights and days st CasaColores. The cabins are comfortable with joyful, bright colors, local hardwood floors and ceilings, relaxing private porches. The pool is delightful, surrounded by beautiful tropical vegetation. The location is far enough from the bustle of Montezuma but close enough to walk. There are birds galore, and agoutis and iguanas in residence. We experienced the capuchin troop, and the howler monkey troop passing through the trees, the howlers are wild! We had some great conversations with our host Ruben, who also cooks breakfast. I highly recommend Casa Colores.

One of the highlights of our trip!

This hotel is unique in comparison to everything I tried before. Be prepared to have breakfast with the blue jays by the pool! Amazing imersion into the nature and beautiful little wood house.

Comfortable cabins

Posted 28 Nov 2017
Enjoyed the cabins. Well-stocked for kitchen supplies if you are staying long enough to utilize the cabin kitchen. The location of the hotel is no walking distance to town or any restaurants.

Hello ! Thanks for staying with us ! Most people without a car walk down to the village (20 min) and take a taxi back (5-6 US dollars), or you can take a taxi both ways. The local bus is also passing every 2 hours. But of course it's more comfortable with your own car. Kind regards Catrine
