Too much hassle. Not worth it.

Posted 30 Dec 2011
Pros: Proximity to airport. A couple of people tried their best.
Cons: Too many. More than 150 characters are needed.
Location: I chose ciudad bolivar only because there was no other option. Nothing much to see. If you really want to spend some time, one day is enough.
Where do I start. First the good things. If you have an early morning flight (mine was at 630am) you can not get closer to the airport. The airport is 100 meters away. You just cross the road. Also the bell boy knew a bit of English and was very polite and helpful and the ladies that did the laundry were also very helpful even though we could hardly understand each other. Now the bad things. The room was not clean. They were woman's hair in the room. I saw a couple of big ants and a small cockroach too. The shower was dripping quite a bit and the shower floor tiles were very very slippery. The receptionist did not offer a breakfast alternative when I told him my flight is early. He could hardly speak English too. The following morning, the receptionist of the early morning shift could not speak English at all. I didn't even know whether he wanted to charge me again for the room I had already paid the night before. I wanted to give him in an envelope some money for the laundry to give to the ladies as I agreed with them and I spent 20 minutes trying to explain to him that I needed an envelope to put some money to pay them. I hope that the ladies got their money and did not think this was a tip for him! But to his credit he tried to understand me and did not seem indifferent like the other receptionist the day before.
