It's not the Ritz, but is clean, comfy and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Plenty of parking and it's quiet, being set back from the main A6.
The hotel is being gradually refurbished and it does need it as the decor is very dated. You can tell that it was previously a Premier Inn. It was reasonably priced for one night.
I didn’t frequent the attached pub so can't comment on food quality.

Not at all bad!
Posted 25 Feb 2024 on HotelsThe hotel was good but had renovation going on which I didn't know about but it was fine. The staff are great and there is a decent pub next door which does pretty good food. The room was big with a decent bed but they don't do a cooked breakfast but that is because it's not worth it for the number of rooms (understandable). Overall not at all bad!

Room itself was lovely. Uninformed about property renovation so unable to relax when checked in due to noise. Dust sheets all over corridors and workmen plastering and drilling etc. Room needed some tlc and door to bathroom rubbed the toilet. Money for room Vs quality gave us a bad taste after walking into a building site.

Nightmare …
No communication that they did not have proper breakfast facilities … closed Breakfast room … wrong breakfast provided… broken hot drinks machine
My room was freezing … the heating was broken … on a night when it was less than -3 degrees.
The whole hotel is in need of some care and attention
The staff are kind … but not efficient

Dear Kevin.The breakfast you received was the same breakfast we advertise and always sell it was just in a bag. We apologise that the heating was not working during your stay this is due to the heater being turned off in your room which was checked and fixed by the staff. And the breakfast room is currently going through a refurb

great stay
Posted 20 Nov 2023 on Hotelsoverall room was great one of the single beds was not fully a bed so little hard to sleep on. room was clean but feel could be updated but had work going on in other room which caused no problems.
big shout out to mike on the front desk he was amazing with our daughters as they had won a competition and treated them to hot chocs as was late when we got back! defo would stay again

Posted 14 Nov 2023 on HotelsRoom 19 The room was big but dated and could do with a refurbished, the bathroom was the worst chipped in the bath in multiple places mold in the tiles and surrounding areas in the bath the shower curtain was turning orange at the end of it and the shower rail was hanging out the wall, if I did not notice it and pulled the curtain across it would of fell out the wall as the wall plugs were also out the wall, the towels provided smelt really bad it had a fishy smell to them and you could smelt it as soon As you entered the room
