Beautiful property on the outskirts

Posted 3 Jan 2018 on Hotels
Lovely new property! Chose this place because it was close to where friends of mine live -- it's in a suburban neighborhood of brand-new little mansions, older family homes, and somewhat too many vacant parcels of land no doubt being held by speculators riding the Thai real estate bubble . . . but I digress. Those desiring a quiet and pretty hotel need look no farther. You'll almost never see a tuk-tuk or a sorngthaew, and taxis in Chiang Mai are few and far between, but if you don't have a car, no worries -- Uber and Grabcar drivers are thick on the ground, and cost less than taxis anyway. No breakfast service, although there's a small basket of goodies in the room (e.g., instant noodles) for which there's no minibar charge! -- and there is a food delivery service. But with a host of shamelessly cheap and shamelessly good noodle restaurants and cafes in the immediate vicinity, why bother? Just one thing to beware of: Liquid hand soap and shampoo are kept in cute little ceramic vases, and I was a bit worried about dropping one while in the shower, so make sure your hands aren't soapy while handling them . . .

First visit to Chiang Mai

Posted 6 Apr 2017
Pros: Clean, classy, modern and contemporary.
Cons: Map and directions of all the restaurants around the hotel.
Location: Close to Nimman and Maya Center
So apart from my flight. Expedia got my hotel right. Burapa Boutique Hotel is awesome. We were greeted by Nippon and Thim, great hospitality, honestly couldn't ask for a better place to stay. Our family suite was contemporary and modern, my only wish was if they had a pool. Other than that we were able to get around and sight see all over Chiang Mai. Nippon was gracious to setup everything and also get us a private red car and driver for 2 days and little over 24 hrs of driving for about 6K baht. We went to a dozen destinations some over 2 1/2 hours away. Nippon exceeded our expectations and allowed us to appreciate what Chiang Mai has to offer, definitely coming back because of him.

Cosy Boutique with very pretty aesthetics

Posted 2 Jan 2016 on Hotels
This boutique hotel is nestled amongst a pretty residential neighbourhood with the mighty Doi Suthep framing the scene. There is much peace and tranquility here. The owner and his team run a very cosey hotel and will attend carefully to all their guests needs . Location may be a little far from the Old City and the Ping River . But those locations are a short car ride ( or bike ride !) away.

Nice, isolated hotel

Posted 30 Apr 2015 on Hotels
My boyfriend and spent three days in Chiang Mai and we stayed at this hotel. We found that the room was spacious, clean and quiet (very quiet...). However, the hotel is fairly isolated with a few small stalls/shops around for any basic needs. It is quite far from the centre and the taxi fares are around 200 - 250 bhats each way and you will need the taxi because riding a bicycle or a moped can be very unsafe. Both my boyfriend and I each used one of the three bicycles of the hotel and felt that the roads were unsafe to try to go further that the nearest stall. The hotel staff were kind to offer to pick us up from the airport for 220 bhats which is the same rate as a taxi. Unfortunately, the hotel offers very basic breakfast as they do not cater for that in the premises. I definitely wished the hotel had a swimming pool as it was too hot to enjoy the balcony.
