Swimming pool excellent thats what we stayed for the fitness centre could do with more staff on reception on check in check out times

The hotel is in a good location, park and ride into Chester next door. Nice food although dinner on first night was very expensive and small portions. Good free parking. The down side is no lift, no safe or mini fridge in room. Dogs are allowed to stay in ALL the rooms (I was told this when I asked at reception) our room stank of damp dog. The rooms are carpeted so not really suitable for animals. I have an allergy to cat and dog dander, so I was not impressed. I imagined they would have allocated rooms for people who wanted to take their animals to a hotel. Just as well I had antihistamines with me. This is an important point as many people have allergies to animals.

The hotel is pet friendly and we limit areas of the hotel that dogs are permitted in, for example not in the restaurant of leisure facilities. Great value and close to Chester and easy to get to the main attractions. Hotel reasonable though a little tired

This hotel looks nothing like the photos on the website. I am partially disabled and there is no lift. No offer of help with luggage as you have to carry it upstairs. Got to the room to find no hot water so couldn't freshen up before going out. Had to wait for maintenance which to be fair arrived quite quickly. Had to wait to see if it could be fixed which it could not so had to then move to another room. Reception slow to answer when ringing to explain problems, often times nobody behind reception and kept waiting along with other guests. This was the morning reception. Also got snarky when my partner complained about all the waiting and problems we were having and continually having to go up and down stairs and long corridors to seek assistance instead of sending a member of staff to assist us. Tried to use the hairdryer which you couldn't plug in due to sockets too low down to cabinet. Found another socket only to find the hairdryer didnt work. Decor old and tired. Definitely needs a refurb. Plus points, decent bed. Nobody on reception again when checking out so just left key card on counter and left.

Unfortunately during your stay we had a significant boiler failure which took some time to get sorted, this took a number of the team away from their areas of work to try and remedy as quickly as possible for our guests, I am sorry that this delayed responses to your queries. Nearly 50% of our bedrooms are located on the ground floor and had we been aware of your requirements would have ensure one of these rooms was allocated for you.
