Best hotel in Chengdu. This hotel totally sold me on Hyatt and I cannot justify staying at Marriott properties anymore. Marriott has taken their eye off customer service and it shows. Grand Hyatt offers luxury hotel experience and simply the best breakfast buffet experience in China.

The hotel is in a very convenient location, lots of shopping malls and restaurants around. Staff friendly and helpful. The manager prepared a cake for my wife on her birthday, it was kinda suprised and sweet. The room overall was good, just some spots are not very well maintained while the public area is nice and clean.

Hyatt solves avoidable issue caused by Hotels.com

I booked club room for two persons with two twin beds and with breakfast included for 2 persons. Apparently Hotels.com sent Grand Hyatt confirmation for only one breakfast included. I showed the hotel staff the receipt from Hotels.com which said “breakfast included” but without the exact wording from the original room description. I find this to be a significant issue on Hotels.com - ie, the receipts which are issued do not show the same level of detail of what you are buying on the website. In the end, the Hyatt staff agreed to provide two breakfasts but not after much discussion. This hassle could be avoided if hotels.com issued more detailed receipts of what its customers are paying for.

The property is in a very convenient location. Staff are very friendly. Will stay again if go back to Chengdu
